The resource fair is your first opportunity to learn about the many services and
resources available at UNT. Lunch is provided by Dining Services. Please help us
by disposing of trash when you have finished eating.

(You will be dismissed by the number on your nametag).
This is your chance to connect with your Orientation Leader and meet other new
students. You will be introduced to university and academic life at UNT and have a
little fun. Bring your orientation bag and a pencil/pen.
1:00 PM 4:00 PM Math Placement, Music Theory Placement & Foreign Language Credit
Assigned General Access Computer Labs
(You will be escorted to placement by your Orientation Leader).
All students, unless they are exempt, will participate in Math Placement. Music majors
and minors, and those students interested in taking music courses at UNT, will also
take the Music Theory Placement Exam. An optional Foreign Language Credit Exam
will be given during this time as well.

This session is designed to provide you with resources to help you successfully navigate
your college academic career. You will participate in an academic overview,
academic success activities, and will discuss your academic advising responsibilities
and resources.

You MUST be present at lunch in order to be dismissed to your academic advising
session.
12:30 PM 1:45 PM Honors College Lunch & Advising (Sessions 1, 2, and 5 ONLY)

Students already accepted into the UNT Honors College should attend this
session to meet the Honors College staff & receive specialized advising.
2:00 PM 4:00 PM Departmental Academic Advising

You will be escorted by Orientation Staff to your Advising Session.
During this session, you will meet with your academic advisor to determine fall
schedule options. All students must be advised before registering and must obtain a
completed advising clearance form. Bring to this session your orientation bag and all
materials you have been given.
2:30 PM 4:45 PM Additional Activities
Once you have completed academic advising, you can participate in any of the
following activities.

All students admitted by the UNT International Admissions Office MUST go to International Orientation and
Document Check-In. Bring: Passport, I-94, I-20, and/or all immigration documents that show your visa status.
You will receive information on mandatory health insurance, immigration requirements, employment eligibility,
and registration for classes.

Students with disabilities who plan to file for accommodations with the Office of Disability Accommodation
(ODA) are asked to stop by the office to learn about services and how to make a smooth transition to UNT.
PAR Block

Students with failing scores on the THEA, ACCUPLACER, Asset or Compass tests must obtain clearance from
the PAR office prior to registration. All PAR blocks must be cleared before registering for classes.

In addition to going to class get involved at UNT! In this overview of student life,
learn why it is essential to get involved outside of class. Representatives from many
areas will tell you how to Get Connected by taking an active role on campus. The
Orientation Spirit Competition will also take place during this time.

Meet your Orientation Leader at your Small Group Room
This final meeting with your Orientation Leader will help prepare you for tomorrows
activities, including registration. This is also a great time to ask your Orientation
Leader any final questions.

Meet with your Orientation Leader to show him/her that your schedule has been
completed and that you are prepared for Registration in the morning. Join us in the

You will select three presentations to attend in addition to registering and paying for
classes. Bring your passport to be stamped by our session presenters in order to be
eligible for some great prizes. Attendance at these sessions is mandatory.
Registration & Payment
Designated Computer Lab, See Academic Advising Sheet
Registration for fall classes will be completed online. Locate your computer lab assignment by checking your
academic advising sheet. You will only be allowed to register during the time assigned to your group number
in the chart below. Please check with your Orientation Leader for more information. Parents are not
allowed in the computer labs while students register for classes.
Please bring your completed schedule, advising form with advising code, Schedule of Classes and UNT
Bulletin to the lab with you. An Orientation Leader will be available to assist you through the registration
process. Once you have registered for classes, you are encouraged to pay online with a credit card or via
electronic check. You may also make payments at Student Accounting on the first floor of the Eagle Student
Services Center.

The Bottom Line: Affording Your First Year at College

Increasing college and living costs have forced a growing number of UNT students to accrue greater student
loan and personal debt during their college years. This joint presentation will help get you thinking about how
to plan and afford your college and living expenses without falling victim to unmanageable debt by the time
you graduate. Presenters will discuss important money management skills and provide strategies on how to use
financial aid to your advantage.

1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Guided Residence Hall Tours
You must check out of Maple Hall BEFORE attending hall tours!
Residence Hall Tours will be available between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM (20-minute
tour intervals). Housing Hall Ambassadors will greet new incoming residents in the
lobby areas and will be able to answer any questions that new residents may have.
We apologize but Kerr Hall will not be available for tours.
