Course Description This course reviews common business systems and their interrelationships. Business systems covered include finance, accounting, sales, marketing, human resources, legal, and operations. Emphasis is placed upon the inputs and outputs of information systems, the potential for integration of the systems, and information systems security. This final paper and presentation will not be posted until Week 5. Assume that the paper and the presentation are to be given to an executive management committee. At a minimum, the paper/ presentation should include the following: o Each type of business system and subsystem. o Description of each business system and subsystem. o Identification of inter-relationships of business systems and subsystem.

Review the Mission, Description, Finance, and Accounting page for Riordan Manufacturing. Identify and describe, based upon your review, existing and needed business systems and subsystems. Draft the first two to three pages of the paper. (Paper Due Week 5) Resource: Virtual Organization Prepare a maximum 3-page Word document describing an information system critical to the business processes of Huffman Trucking. Include in your description how this information system has an effect on the organizational structure. Huffman Trucking details can be found in the Virtual Organizations section by clicking on Classroom>Materials>Virtual Organizations.

(Paper Due in Week 5) Write a maximum 3-page Word document describing the potential electronic commerce aspects related to the development of the Kudler Fine Foods Frequent Shopper Program. Include the following: The legal, ethical, and security considerations for the development of this program A description of the financial analysis you recommend to justify the expenditures related to the development of the Frequent Shopper Program.
