Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and Reports Developer 10g

Course Length: 5 Days Approach: Instructor led lectures, combined with workshops. Course Description: This course offers students an introduction to Oracle 10g Database technology. Students learn the concepts of relational databases and the powerful SQL programming language. This course provides the essential SQL skills that allow developers to write queries against single and multiple tables, manipulate data in tables, create database objects, and query meta data. This course also introduces students to PL/SQL and helps them understand the benefits of this powerful programming language. Students learn to create PL/SQL blocks of application code that can be shared by multiple forms, reports, and data management applications. Students learn to create anonymous PL/SQL blocks and are introduced to stored procedures and functions. They learn about declaring variables, trapping exceptions and they also learn to declare and control cursors. This course introduces the student to the main concepts of Oracle Reports Developer. Students learn how to design reports and how to retrieve, display, and format data in numerous reporting styles and publish the output. Students also learn how to add dynamic content to a static Web page, publish reports on the Web, customize complex reports, and embed charts. This course is presented in an intensive workshop format where participants absorb the complex topics of object hierarchies, frame hierarchies, field-level control of report output and many other subjects. Who Should Attend: The target audiences for this course are application developers, business intelligence developer, database designers, end users, forms developer, PL/SQL developer and portal developer. Other target audiences are application developers and designers, software development and technical support personnel who need to create reports in a variety of styles and customize reports to meet their business requirements. Prerequisites: Familiarity with Data Processing Concepts and Techniques. Ability to use a graphical user interface (GUI) and familiarity with basic XML and HTML would be an advantage.
