PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The system is composed of a computer, a printer, a decoder, a connector and transponders. The software chronos makes it possible to make function the system. At the time of a competition, each runner will be equipped with a transponder which when it passes on the loop or in front of the gantry, connected to the connector, will start a beep of passage. Information will then be transmitted to the decoder which will then communicate it to the computer.

Installation of the system

Connection: Computer - >decoder - > Connector - > buckles or gantry The computer is connected to the decoder with cable USB. The decoder is connected to the connector with the flexible cable (2 ends to be screwed) At the end of the connector the loop or the gantry is connected. Two possibilities: Use of a loop posed on the ground: The loop consists of a flexible electric wire diameter 1,5 mm Spacing of two wire (between 0,45 and 0.60 meters) The length of the wire is at least of 20 meters 0.45 m 0,60 m ------10 meters --------------------

Case of connection

If the way on which one will install it made less than 10 meters to entirely extend the loop (which should not remain rolled up in its end), one doubles wire. LED -----Case of connection When the loop is correctly installed, the orange LED of the decoder remains lit permanently. Use of a gantry:

To regulate the power of the magnetic field: For that, the computer must be connected. To open Vent - > to select the plate - > Race - > Para decoder

To regulate the magnetic field while helping itself of the transponder equipped with a LED. (the magnetic field must cover the width of the roadway where the race proceeds)

So barriers of protection are installed on both sides roadway beside the loop, they should not be related the ones to the others (to avoid the propagation of the magnetic field generated by the system)

A runner which would have given up should not remain in the magnetic field with its transponder with the risk to be recorded permanently.
Contrary to the adjustment of the magnetic field, the installation of the loop and the gantry can be made without connection with the computer.

STARTING

Before starting the software, connecting provided key USB. (if this key is not
connected, the system functions simply like demonstration)

Software: To start V9.0 chronos To create a race: To click on Vent (event)

To select chronos

To supplement the box name by the name of the Race (example: The CORNICE) and to validate

Select the CORNICE while clicking above, and then on Action on Test Plate.

To supplement the number of the test (if several tests using the same file runners in the course of the day, 1,2,3) To validate. Caution: if there are several categories of runners in distinct and separated tests, to create a new test each time. Example: tiny, juniors juniors, seniors, veterans. Tiny and juniors roll together in a first race, to create a test for them, Juniors, seniors, veterans run together in a second race, (separately of tiny and juniors), to create a test separated for them.

To select the test (in the case below 001) and to supplement the information in the grayed box of right-hand side. 7

The line Titer L1 will appear on the printed lists, just like the line Plateau (Orion) Attention, the length of the circuit must be indicated in meters. To validate.

To create the handles:

The card of each participant is supplemented. One has the preliminary recording of the runners on an Excel spreadsheet:

What gives:

To check that the number of the Excel page corresponds to that of the previously open page on the desk. The race
To parameterize the elements for a race on line: Vent - > to click twice on (in the case below) the Cornice, select 001 Vire - > notch circuit, - > OK

If the race is made up of two or several groups which do not leave at the same time:

What gives when the race is launched:

The classification will progressively post passage of the runners. The final classification will take account of the time of departure of each competitor.

To open the file Race - > click on the desired race (here race on line) 16

The screen hereafter opens:

To make leave the runners before clicking on departure. To click once nobody any more is in the magnetic field, approximately 20 meters (to prevent that the system, if somebody is on the loop, does not record a turn carried out) Then, as the runners pass on the loop, the transponders will be posted in the left part and the classification will be posted in the right part. If a transponder is not recorded in the passing, in the left part where the transponders with their passage ravel, to click on the right button of the mouse. A line is created. On this line to twice click the left button of the mouse and in the square which flickers to indicate the number of the number of the competitor magnifying glass. To make entry

Race end: to click on FINISH, then STOP.

To start the race (Start) Each time a runner passes on the loop, its time will be posted and it will be classified according to this time.

Classification of the transponders

The transponder is equipped in the beginning with a number. In order to better manage the race, it is good to assign to each transponder a number which one will take care to register by means of an ink which is not erased (surface of the transponder containing resin) and of a self-stick label To number a transponder, to use function CERES

Open the page which requires the port Com. To select this port.

To know which is this port, to open Chronos to select configuration hardware the following page opens, where you can read the port to be used (For the portable of the club, the port is the 3).

Precision: if the page indicates Port Off-line, it is that the Port is erroneous, or that one did not connect key USB. To start again the manipulation. Configuration of the impressions

Possibility of printing the titles with logos to be made before. Those existing have as a dimension 1080 X 180 pixels. The logos are recorded under .bmp Choice of the characters of impression and their size: to determine these parameters according to the needs and of the sensitivities of each one.
