Global Meat Industry: Demand & Supply Forecast (Beef)

Global Beef and Veal Demand Forecast Factors that derive the Meat demand are human population Growth Rate, Per Capita GDP and Meat Prices Per Capita GDP is an important factor that effects the meat demand, given the fact that most of the Global population is poor. The relation between the marginal propensity to consume meat and Per Capita GDP will not be linear ,in fact, it will have an exponential relationship Meat Prices are inversely proportional with Meat Demand The Global demand for beef is expected to grow at a CAGR of 1.3%

Pakistan Animal Supply Analysis: Forecast (Regime change causing Supply

Shock)
Supply of Cattle grew at CAGR of 3.99% , while Supply of Buffaloes grew at CAGR of 3.16% for the period FY 2006 2010 Supply of Sheep grew at CAGR of 1.2%, while Supply of Goats grew at CAGR of 2.82% for the period FY 2006 2010 Supply of Poultry grew at CAGR of 1.65% , while Total Meat Supply grew at CAGR of 2.56% for the period FY 2006 2010

Although for the period FY 2006 2010 animal CAGR is recorded at 2.56%, however going forward we assume that it will be lower in comparison with the historic number due to the regime change
Regime change is caused by the current hype in meat prices that occurred due to the start of meat export, the regime change is explained in the following diagram

Regime Change
Historical Trend
Historically majority of animal used for Meat consumption were only taken from Male animals or Dairy or Breeding animals that were old were used

Male Animals

Female Dairy Animals

Regime Change
However due to current hike in prices what happened was that animal stockholders not only sell male animals but also Breeding animals and Dairy animals , which will cause a Supply Shock in the future period

Female Breeding Animals
