COMPETITION

DYNAMICS 1. The competition is open to all YFC members. 2. There should be one entry per Sector. All Sectors should confirm their entry with the lyrics of the song on or before October 15, 2010. (The official list should be signed by the YFC Over-all Sector Couple Coordinator to ensure that they are certified YFC members). 3. A Show Choir is defined as a group of people who combine choral singing with dance movements, sometimes within the context of a specific idea or story. 4. Each group must be composed of 10-15 members. They can be a combination of singers and dancers. One point will be deducted for every person in excess and/or in deficiency of the provision. 5. Entries must also be composed of MIXED performers brothers and sisters (there should be more than 1 sister/brother in a group). Sectors that will not comply will automatically face disqualification. 6. The members of the show choir should demonstrate the ability to sing their chosen music. 7. The members of the show choir should demonstrate the ability to add movement or choreography to their performance that compliments the music. 8. The group MUST have a minus-one audio to enhance the performance integrating their skills in dancing and singing. CDs should be submitted upon site arrival and confirmation otherwise they would be disqualified. 9. Use of props is highly encouraged to develop the visual aspect of the performance. 10. The group can use musical hand props (eg. harmonica, tambourine, and etc) to complement the voices. Instruments that use amplifiers (eg. guitars, keyboards, etc) and drum sets are not allowed. 11. Lyrics should be wholesome and not sexually suggestive or vulgar. The song can be in the form of fast-paced or slow-paced pieces. 12. The song rendition should not exceed five minutes. There will be a one-minute grace period for entrance and another minute for the exit. 13. Costumes are highly encouraged to add up to the total performance however; it must be decent and proper for the performance. The COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE deserves the right not to allow the performance of a group due to costume technicalities. 14. It is the groups responsibility to signify their presence one hour before the competition and to show up at least an hour before their performance. I. BAND COMPETITION DYNAMICS 1. The competition is open to all YFC members. 2. There should be one entry per Sector. Title of the songs SHOULD be specified. All Sectors should confirm their entry on or before October 15, 2010. (The official list should be signed by the YFC Overall Sector Couple Coordinator to ensure that they are certified YFC members). 3. The number of band members may range from 5 to 12 persons (instrumentalists and singers combined). One point will be deducted from the total score for every person in excess or in deficiency of this provision. 4. The band is allowed to play two (2) songs contemporary/pop secular songs or medley. 5. Presentation should not exceed 10 minutes. One point will be deducted from the total score for every minute or fraction thereof in excess of the time allotted. NOTE: Each band will also be given 5 minutes sound check one hour before the entire event starts. 6. The bands look, which includes costumes of singers and band members, must be decent and proper. 7. It is the bands responsibility to signify their presence one hour before the competition and to show up at least one hour before their performance. 8. The Competitions Committee will provide, as part of the sound system, all amplifiers, vocal microphones and set of drums for all competing bands. The competing bands must provide for themselves additional instruments and other gadgets in excess need of what the Organizers will be providing, if necessary. 9. To avoid song repetition, title and lyrics should be submitted together with the entry form. Band/s concerned will be notified immediately by the Competitions Committee in order to change their song. 9. Only songs specified in the entry forms and approved by the Competitions Committee are to be played during the competition proper. Bands who will not comply will risk disqualification.

DYNAMICS: 1. The competition is open to all YFC members. 2. There should be one entry per Sector. All Sectors should confirm their entry on or before October 15, 2010. VCD, DVD or mini-dv should be submitted upon site arrival and confirmation otherwise they would be disqualified. 4. The storylines should be in connection with this years theme YFC CHRONICLES, The journey continues taken from Colossians 1:10. The theme explains the life of the young continuing his journey with the Lord. 5. The entry should be at least 4 - 8 minutes long. Three points will be deducted from the total score for every minute or fraction thereof in excess of the allotted time. TECHNICALS: 1. Any medium may be used to create the video including, but not limited to - film, animation, and photography. However, all footages must be original material. No stock footages sourced from anywhere else (i.e. downloaded files or cuts from films or commercials), may be used. 2. Each entry may use a mix of video, photos and artworks. 3. Film visual and sound quality will be judged. To help ensure the quality, here are a few tips: o Frame size: 720 x 480; o frame rate: 29.97 ftps, 25 ftps or 24 ftps [I.e. standard NTSC or PAL frame rates] o Audio use: .wav files over .mp3 4. Entries may be submitted in VCD, DVD or mini-dv format 5. The entry format should be as follows: a. 5 10 universal counting leader or black frame b. Title card: entry title (consist of the title of the video and from what region/area) c. Gag video itself d. End title card: [i.e. credits, film makers] DISQUALIFICATIONS: 1. Jokes should be wholesome (no negative, green or toilet humor, no gay roles, no cross dressing, making fun of disabilities, etc.) 2. Entries must have original contents and have not been used in any video competitions. 3. Films must not contain obscene or pornographic material, defamatory or libelous statements, must not invade privacy rights, exploit individuals or in any other way violate applicable laws or regulations. 4. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to determine as to what content may require viewer advisory or disqualification. DYNAMICS 1. The competition is open to all YFC members. 2. There should be one entry per Sector. Title of the songs SHOULD be specified in the elimination. All Sectors should confirm their entry on or before October 15, 2010. (The official list should be signed by the YFC Over-all Sector Couple Coordinator to ensure that they are certified YFC members). 3. The contestants must prepare a freestyle dance for one minute. The organizers will provide the music, which they will only get to hear in the contest proper. FIRST ROUND: The contestants will be called in one by one to perform their prepared dance. SECOND ROUND: After everyone has performed, the contestants will now showcase their freestyle dance moves or exhibitions. The contestant who will best execute the choreography will be declared winner. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable 4. It is the contestants responsibility to signify his/her presence one hour before the competition and to show up at least one hour before his/her performance.

Dance type shall be modern-contemporary, traditional/classic dance types and/or combination of this as long as they are expressed in the character and vibrancy of todays youth. (Ballet & cultural will not be considered unless they are mixed with and danced to contemporary pop and youth culture styles of dance and musichip hop, techno, etc.) 6. The competition will showcase the groups prepared dance. Maximum time for performance is five (5) minutes including entrance and exit. Time starts once group enters stage and ends after its exit. Three points will be deducted from the total score for every minute or fraction thereof in excess of the allotted time. 7. CDs should be submitted upon site arrival and confirmation otherwise they would be disqualified. 8. Movements should not be vulgar or sexually suggestive. 9. Costumes must be decent and proper for the dance. The COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE reserves the right not to allow the performance of a group due to costume technicalities. 10. Music should be wholesome and lively. Subliminal, sexually suggestive, and vulgar lyrics/language will not be allowed. (eg. Peaches and Cream, Sex Bomb, Too Close, etc.) Non-compliance with the guideline will result in disqualification. 11. YFC ON FILM YFC COMMUNITY VIDEO COMPETITION YFC is on an all out venture into evangelizing many youth as possible, allowing each youth around the world, to experience the love of Christ. Time is of the essence and there is only so much that we can do and say in a span of time. This is why this year we want to give opportunity for the world to know what Youth for Christ is through a short video. This video will support us, as we tell the world how we are being transformed through the Holy Spirit, allowing us to experience the fullness of life in Christ. DYNAMICS: 1. The goal of this video is to: a) Allow the audience to see the image of Youth for Christ as dynamic, vibrant, exciting, and full of life. b) Heighten the audience interest in being a part of Youth for Christ. c) Give the audience a glimpse of the work and mission of Youth for Christ. - reaching out to the poor, to other youth, to other schools 3.
