Disconnectelectricalharnessfrominjector.PlugNoidLiteintoharness,turnengineON. 1)IfNoidLiteflashes,electricalsystemisOK. 2)Asteadylightornolightindicatesmalfunctioningelectricalsystem.Ifproblempersists,checkfuelsystem. Fourfootlongcablemakesiteasiertoviewthesignal.SimplyplugtheNoidLiteintotheextensionharnesstheninto vehicle'sinjectionwiringharness.Extendfiberopticcableoutofenginecompartment,placingtheendwhereitis easilyvisible.Crankengine.WatchforNoidLiteflash.Suctioncupendallowsstayputplacementonhood,fender,or windshield,etc.,withoutdamagingsurfaces. IMPORTANT:Sharplybendingorcrimpingtheharnesswilldamagethefiberopticcable.

    IACSignalTester Usetestersforcheckingtheelectroniccontrolmodulesignalthatprovidesdirectiontotheidleaircontrolmotoron GMvehicleswiththrottlebodyorportfuelinjectionsystems. A.#7000A1987topresentGMNo.700TBIandPFIfuelinjectionsystemswithaflat4pinconnector. B.#7000B1982through1991GMTBIandPFIfuelinjectionsystemswithasquare4pinconnector. IACSignalTesterInstructions 1) Runengineuntilnormaloperatingtemperatureisachieved,thenturnoffignition 2) UnplugtheharnessfromtheIACmotoronthethrottlebody,andplugthetesterintotheharness. 3) Whittheengineidling,createaloadtoseeifthePCM(Powertraincontrolmoduletheenginemanagement computer)issendingasignalintendedtomaintainproperidlespeed.Thismaybedonebyturningthe steeringwheelallthewayinonedirectiontolocktoloadthepowersteeringpump,orbyturningontheAC. 4) YouwillheartheRMPdecrease,thenyoushouldseeoneoftheLEDsonthetesterilluminate,which indicatesthatthereisasignalfromthePCM. 5) IfneitheriftheLEDscomeon,checkthewiringandconnectionsbetweenthePCMandtheIACconnector.If youdonotfindaproblem,thePCMmaybefaulty. NOTE:DonotcondemnaPCMbasedsolelyontheoutcomeofthistest.ChecktheRPMinputsignaland makesurethesystemisinclosedloopfirst. 6) Createavacuumleakbyremovinganaccessoryhosethatisconnectedtotheintakemanifold.Thiswillcause theRPMstorise.ThePCMshouldtrytocorrectthisbysendingasignaltotheIACmotor,andoneofthe LEDsonthetestershouldilluminate.Ifnot,repeatstep#5. 7) IfthePCMissendinganidlecontrolsignal,buttheidlespeeddoesnotstabilizeproperlywhiletheharnessis connectedtotheIACmotor,theIACmotoritselfmaybetheproblem.Removeit,checkitfordepositsand seethatthepassagesitcontrolsareclear.Ifyoufindnoobviousproblems,replacetheIACmotor.
