BAREFOOT TRUTH

PRACTICING THE PRESENCE OF GOD

We receive so much Word every day and often I wonder why we so often struggle to make that word a practical reality in our day to day walk with God. As I was meditating on this I the Lord impressed upon my heart that the key to this is to practice to be in His presence every moment of every day. I believe that the first place that we need to start is at understanding the concept of PRACTICING THE PRESENCE OF GOD. I think that the most practical way to put it would be to say that we need to have the awareness of the presence of God in everything that we do every day. The awareness that He is actively involved in all that we think and do. It is so easy to make this a soulish thing. This is not what I want to do. I am speaking of the awareness of the presence of God within you from your spirit dimension. It is not a feeling much rather a knowingness within you of living, walking and responding from your spirit. I will try to present to you some scriptures that you can use to meditate upon in order to make this a daily practice in your walk with God. Col 3:17 AMP And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him. G3056 logos WORD something said (including the thought); by implication a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; G2041 ergon DEED From erg (a primary but obsolete word; to work); toil (as an effort or occupation); by implication an act: - deed, doing, labour, work. G3686 on'-om-ah - NAME From a presumed derivative of the base of G1097 (compare G3685); a name (literally or figuratively), (authority, character): - called, (+ sur-) name (-d). If I have to make a free and direct translation of this scripture it would be:

Do every and anything you do whether in your thoughts or your actions, do it in the authority and character of Jesus Christ so that through your life you give praise to God the Father. 2Co 10:5 AMP [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), This is a challenge. God is requiring from us to bring our every thought and purpose into a place of captivity where every thought and purpose only reflect utter and complete obedience to the Lord Jesus. I believe that this is a process of where in a like manner as what Paul has said that he has to buffet his body onto obedience we have to do the same with our thoughts and purposes. It is only as we actively seek to know God in every aspect of our lives and consciously live a life in response to his demands that we will step into this dimension. 1Jo 2:29 AMP If you know (perceive and are sure) that He [Christ] is [absolutely] righteous [conforming to the Father's will in purpose, thought, and action], you may also know (be sure) that everyone who does righteously [and is therefore in like manner conformed to the divine will] is born (begotten) of Him [God]. Practicing to be in the presence of God, having that God consciousness every moment of every day will bring us to the place where we can to live as Jesus did.. a life conformed to the will of God the Father in purpose, thoughts and our actions. If we have a desire to live a righteous life, to live a life in the constant presence of God the requirement is that we align our lives to the place and position where our lives are so integrated and aligned in intimacy with God the Father the Gods divine will now become our will Gods purpose in and through us now gets aligned where that purpose now becomes our purpose Gods thoughts about us, the situations we face and also the actions that we take now is addressed from the position where we think as God thinks.. Is this not also then to really have the mind of Christ? The Lord desires for this to happen and also ensures us that we can do it, but that does not necessarily mean it will be easy. Above everything, the Lord craves our love. And the greatest demonstrations of love are costly. Are you ready to take up this challenge and to life a life practicing the presence of God?
