The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCSR) has authorized this advertisement for Bids on the following project: "GULFPORT RAIL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT RAIL PICK UP AND PURCHASE Subcontractor will be responsible for picking up and removing approximately 60 miles of used rail and other track material from KCSRs right of way between Gulfport and Hattiesburg, Mississippi. As compensation for picking up and removing the rail, ownership and title to the rail and other track material will transfer to subcontractor, minus the value of such rail and other track material that will be paid to KCSR by subcontractor as set forth in the agreement to be signed between KCSR and subcontractor. The amount to be paid to KCSR for the rail will be based on the classification of the rail as Relay #1, Relay #2 or Scrap. The rail is primarily 90 pound jointed rail. The winning bidder must have railroad hi-rail equipment and a short rail train or gondolas to perform pick up behind KCSRs rail installation gang. The Request for Proposal, which includes a Master Agreement and Statement of Work (collectively, the Bid Documents), may be obtained from the office of The Kansas City Southern Railway Company, Attn: Sheri Lesmeister-Brown, Purchasing Department, Cathedral Square, 427 West 12th Street, Kansas City, MO, 64105. Requests may be made by mail or calling 816-983-1902. The Request for Proposal may be obtained by emailing SLBrown@KCSouthern.com. All Bids shall conform to the requirements set forth in the Request for Proposal and must contain the required information listed in the Bid Documents. All Bids must be delivered by FedEx or UPS in a sealed envelope marked: Gulfport Rail Improvements Project Rail Pick Up and Purchase Services not later than 3 p.m., _______________, 2011, at The Kansas City Southern Railway Company, Attn: Sheri Lesmeister-Brown, Purchasing Department, Cathedral Square, 427 West 12th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105. Bids received by such deadline will be publicly opened, read out loud, and recorded at the address above at 10 a.m., _____________, 2011. Subcontractor's Certificate of Responsibility number must appear on the outside of the Bid envelope. Any Bids received after said date and time shall be returned to the Bidder unopened. A pre-bid call will be held at 3 p.m., _____________, 2011, with the final day for questions regarding this RFP being accepted at 5p.m., ______________, 2011. KCSR reserves the right to reject all Bids as well as any Bid that does not comply with this Advertisement to Bid and the Bid Documents.
