And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17

Class Content: The class will include readings from the literature anthology text book and other supplementary reading. We will also regularly do studies in grammar, vocabulary, and composition. Students will be expected to participate in class as well as small group discussions on the content of the text that has been read. Short reflection essays will be regularly assigned that require the student to reflect on what they have read. Often these reflection essays will be used as an opportunity to connect the content of the literature with their Christian worldview and personal experience. All written work will be kept in a portfolio which will be collected at preannounced times. Class Objectives: 1. To give students an overview of the important works of British Literature 2. To equip students to discuss and connect the literature they read with a Christian worldview 3. To improve and put into practice the students writing skills and grasp of English grammar 4. To glorify God in all things Text Used: Timeless Voices, Timeless Themes (The British Tradition) Grading: Each students grade will be based on the following: Semester Final Exams Short Reflection Papers Tests Quizzes Classroom Assignments Homework Portfolio Student Expectations: 1.
