First Week 1. Problem This is the first week of my practicum at Sekolah Kebangsaan Ayer Terjun, Jertih, Terengganu.

Once I got the timetable, I got the class of 2 Bijaksana which consists of slow learners pupils. Most of the pupils in this class have the problems in learning the English language skills. In this week, I did not start my lesson yet. I used this chance to get to know them. The problem that I faced in my first week was the class control.

2. Analysis Before I enter the class, I tried to make some analysis about the pupils in this class. I used my free time to walk around and I found that the pupils of 2 Bijaksana were very hyper active in the class. They like to bother the others even during the lesson. I also come and ask the information about them from their classroom teacher, Madam Nurbaiyah. The first time I entered the class, I struggled to control my class. Most of the pupils in this class were the boys and they were very energetic in the class. They like to play and run in the class.

3. Suggestions for Improvement In order to overcome that problem, I came and discussed with my guidances teacher, Miss Noorhanani Bt Mamat@Muhamad. She shared to me about the pupils of 2 Bijaksana. According to her, the new teacher may have the problems in controlling that class. So, she suggested to me to try to be stricter with them during the lesson. Besides that, she suggested me to come and observe her in her class, so that I can learn the approaches she used during the lesson.

4. Time/ Duration

I try to overcome this problem in 2 weeks. The class control is very important during the lesson in order to get the attention from the pupils. So, I can achieve the objectives of the lesson.

5. Success Evaluation

I wish to be able to control the class. At least the pupils were able to do what I have asked them to do. For example, I asked them to not to make noise and do not play with their friends during my lesson. I used this as my minimum achievement to evaluate my success.

6. Follow up Actions

After the discussion with my guidance teacher, I entered the class and tried to be stricter to them. I found that this approach was effective to control them but only for 50 minutes because the class was on the last period. They were excited to go home. In order to control the class, I called their name and asked them to keep quite. The next day, I entered that class with Madam Nurbaiyah. I studied the way she controlled the class, the approaches she used and the way she taught the pupils. I have learned a lot from her. I wish to try to use the her approaches in the class.
