This extremely rare gem sparkles with a vibrant and flattering warm pink colour, while its Type IIa classification signifies that it is among less than 2% of the worlds gem diamonds that are virtually free of nitrogen in their chemical composition. Golconda-type diamonds are sought after by collectors for their prized optical translucency and purity. As most Golconda-type diamonds are colourless, pink diamonds from this rarefied group are even more precious. The legendary mine is best known for its large, limpid and colourless diamonds of the exceptional purity classification of Type IIa, which are extremely rare and highly coveted especially as the mine no longer produces diamonds. Pink diamonds from the Golconda mine of significant size and quality such as the Golconda Pink are, therefore, an exceptionally rare occurrence that hardly ever appears on the market.
