Later that day, we visited the Microsoft Global Technical Support Centre.

Here we were greeted by professionals from the industry who imparted knowledge about SQL Server and gave us sneak video previews on surface computing, Windows 7 and the new Windows Mobile. Last but not the least, secrets behind the interviews for internships and placements in Microsoft were revealed to the students and we got to speak to a few recently placed engineers who shared their own experiences. While in Bangalore we also visited Tipu Sultans Palace and the SS Vishveshvarrayya Museum which was quite a treat for the students, especially the science magic show. We left for Ooty the next day which is quite rightly called the Queen of Hill Stations in the South. The journey to Ooty involved a 2 hour drive through the Mudumalai National Park which involved some breathtaking scenes and wildlife such as deer, elephants, peacocks, monkeys, etc. Ooty was a welcome change from the hot, humid weather of Bangalore with temperatures dropping really low. In Ooty we visited the beautiful Dodabetta peak which was then followed by a visit to the Dodabetta Tea Factory and Museum. That evening we visited the Ooty lake for some boating and shopping. The following day we left for Kodaikanal, a beautiful hill station around 8 hours away. Kodaikanal had us mesmerized with her beautiful slopes and lakes. The views at places like Pillars Rock and Coakers Walk were simply breathtaking. The students also had their fill of fun filled activity like boating and cycling around the Kodai lake. On the last day we organized a campfire for the students which was complete with some superb performances from the students and even a fireworks display. It was truly a perfect ending to ten most amazing and memorable days. The industries we visited, the places we saw and the moments spent in the company of friends, old and new, will linger in our hearts forever. We came back to Mumbai on the 30th of March with memories sure to last us a lifetime and the IEEE chant still resounding in our minds.
