Friday Faves 090911

Friday Faves in #Ithaca: a somber remembrance and some uplifting events to share with those you love.

This weekend brings a somber anniversary, a day commemorating tragedy, bravery and national resiliency. Yet amid the public remembrance, we also recall a private lesson: to live each day fully with those we love. With that in mind, here are the weekends best bets.

New York Remembers All weekend Ithaca is one of 30 cities across the state hosting a special commemorative display entitled "New York Remembers," honoring the 10th anniversary of September 11. The exhibition features artifacts from the collections of the State Museum and the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. A special commemoration reception is scheduled 10am, Sunday. The display is located on the first floor of the Rothschild Building, 215 the Commons, hours: 9am-5pm. And our thanks to the Ithaca Journal for this calendar of community events commemorating the 9/11 anniversary. http://www.theithacajournal.com/article/20110904/NEWS01/109040338/TompkinsCounty-remembers-9-11
