A workshop was organized for PGDM (IB) / PGDM

(RMM) - IV Trimester on 14th September, 2011 at JIMS, Sector 5, Rohini. The workshop was on Business communication and Interview Skills By Ms. RITA GANGWANI

Ex. Lieutenant Rita Gangwani was born at Shimla (Himachal Pradesh). She did her schooling from St. Thomass Girls school, Loreto convent and graduated from St. Bede's college, Shimla. She joined Indian Army in 1978 as a part of Medical core. She stood first in All India Merit list and was awarded President's Medal for Academics. As a core Consultant with some of the leading finishing schools of India, she has also trained Ponds Femina Miss India 2006, DLF City Queen-2008, Super Model Nepal 2008, Miss Delhi 2007, She has also been in the jury of many prestigious Beauty Pageants.

The ability to communicate is the primary factor that distinguishes human beings from animals. And it is the ability to communicate well that distinguishes one individual from another. The fact, is that apart from the basic necessities, one needs to be equipped with habits for good communication skills, as this is what will make them a happy and successful social being. In order to develop these habits, one needs to first acknowledge the fact that they need to improve communication skills from time to time. They need to take stock of the way they interact and the direction in which their work and personal relations are going. The only constant in life is change, and the more one accepts one's strengths and works towards dealing with their shortcomings, especially in the area of communication skills, the better will be their interactions and the more their social popularity.

Workplace communication skills Communication plays a very important role in an organization. A business enterprise has employees from different strata of society with different culture, language and backgrounds. Considering the diversity found in an organization, communication becomes a very important tool in the hands of the management to achieve the organizational goals. It is the single most important factor that helps in uniting the workforce and make them work towards the accomplishment of the objectives set by the management. A company that does not place extra emphasis on clear and concise message is bound to suffer in the long term. It is the duty of the managers to convey their ideas, organizational goals, employee duties etc to the workforce. A perfect organizational culture is built upon an environment which promotes open and clear communication. Lack of effective and open communication can result into high employee turnover, low motivation and wastage of organizational resources. Communication plays a very important role in an organization.
