Workshop Overview
Software Estimation is one of the most neglected but very important aspects of project planning, tracking and management.
Designed for project managers, the course focuses on providing practical insights on the process of making an estimate of size, effort
and schedule for a software project. Using a case study, the course demonstrates the applications of the functional sizing methods
namely Function Points (FP), Use Case Points (UCP) and Full Function Points in a detailed manner. Also, the class focuses on
understanding scale factors, and cost drivers that influence the effort on the project, and demonstrates the use of Constructive Cost
Model II on the software projects. The class concludes with an experiential session focusing on the sins of estimation, which the
project managers should avoid. All attendees would be provided with ready to use templates, and over 100 reference papers in
the field of Software Estimation.
