Overview:
This role is responsible for the supervision and coordination of site personnel and subcontractors, the reporting of all relevant site activities and managing the quality of work performed. This role requires a minimum of at least ten years experience working in the earthmoving and civil construction industry with three of those years in a senior/supervisory role is essential to the position. A strong people/supervision skill together with an ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels is important, as are sound planning and organisation skills. A strong understanding and working knowledge of OHS&R, Environmental Management and Quality Systems is required. The Site Foreman will also be required to use their own initiative and apply a deductive approach when maintaining productivity and cost effectiveness.

1.0
Site Supervision
Duties: 1.1 Ensure the daily programming of all site works is performed in accordance with the Company construction program. 1.2 In conjunction with the Project Manager, Site Engineer and Construction Manager plan and review overall status of project(s) on an ongoing basis. 1.3 Ensure all site resource (labour, machinery, materials, sub-contractors etc) are effectively utilised and monitored in order to achieve timely completion of projects. 1.4 Ensure the Purchasing Officer is provided with sufficient notice when plant and equipment are free to go to another site. 1.5 Upon completion of task, ensure all appropriate hired in plant and equipment is promptly off hired. 1.6 Ensure the Project Manager is promptly provided with any relevant documentation received from either the client or authorities. 1.7 Identify and record any possible variations to the contract, ensuring the Project Manager / Construction Manager is promptly notified.

2.0
Duties: 2.1 Make a deliberate effort to gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the Companys OH&S and Environmental Policies and Procedures, ensuring all site personnel adhere to them at all times. 2.2 Ensure the appropriate safety equipment is worn by site personnel at all times. 2.3 Ensure that all requests to perform unsafe work practices that may result in damage to machinery, people or property are declined. 2.4 Notify the Systems Manager and/or a member of the Safety Committee regarding any unsafe or potentially hazardous situations on site. 2.5 If injured, all employees are required to adhere to and actively participate in the Companys Rehabilitation Policy and Procedures.

Quality Control
Duties: 3.1 Make a deliberate effort to gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the Companys Quality Systems, ensuring all site personnel adhere to them at all times. 3.2 Prior to the commencement of site works, gain an understanding of the relevant project specifications and drawings. 3.3 On an ongoing basis, monitor all works against specifications to ensure the continuing quality and accuracy of work performed. 3.4 Notify the Projects Manager / Construction Manager of any defects, mistakes, errors, contamination or variations identified. 3.5 Ensure all the applicable quality checklists are properly completed.
