Introduction
The company that I have taken to make an internship report is Jamuna Bank Ltd. Jamuna Bank Ltd., the new generation private commercial bank, was established by a group of winning local entrepreneurs conceiving an idea of creating a model banking institution with different outlook to offer the valued customers, a comprehensive range of financial services and innovative products for sustainable mutual growth and prosperity. The Bank is being managed and operated by a group of highly educated and professional team with diversified experience in finance and banking. The Management of the bank constantly focuses on understanding and anticipating customers needs. The bank gives special emphasis on Export, Import, Trade Finance, SME and Retail Credit to woman entrepreneurs. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are accounting for 25 percent of GDP, 80 percent of industrial jobs, and 25 percent of the total labor force in Bangladesh even though the prospective sector gets negligible facilitation from different support service providers. Obviously, Jamuna Bank Ltd. as a commercial bank of Bangladesh has many things to do to flourish the SMEs because, if they flourish, SMEs will create new entrepreneurs, generate more jobs and contribute to a great extent to the national economy.

Origin of the Report


The internship is an integral part of the MBA program. To fulfill the academic requirements of the internship I am required to submit an internship report. Since I am employed with Jamuna Bank Limited as a credit officer I decided to concentrate on SME financing of Jamuna Bank Limited. The report will cover the outcome of my observation and two years work experience in Jamuna Bank Limited. While working in the bank the standard operating procedures carried out by the bank related to the SME financing has been observed and understood. 3

Scope
The report will cover an overview of Jamuna Bank Limited, its SME financing, identification of problems regarding SME loan, types of SME and sector of SME allocation of Jamuna Bank Ltd.

Objectives of the Study:


General Objective

The general objective of the study is to draw a comparative picture of SME loan at Jamuna Bank Limited as well as view the current status of SME loan. Specific Objective The specific focuses of the study are: To find out the activities of credit management system. To depict the procedures followed for lending credit to the customers. To critically analyze the performance of Asset Product and Liability product of Jamuna Bank Limited. To describe the detailed operational procedure of SME Loan along with associated benefits. To identify customers level of satisfaction. To explore the opportunities and competitive advantages that has been ignored by Jamuna Bank Ltd. To recommend ways and means to solve problems regarding SME financing of Jamuna Bank Limited.

Methodology
The report will be based mainly on observation method. The report will be characterized by flexibility with respect to the methods because formal research method, formal research protocol and procedures may not be employed. It may not involve structured questionnaire, large sample and probability sampling plans.

The rules and regulations will be cited from various Government circulars, Credit Manual of Jamuna Bank Ltd. & Credit policy guidelines published by Bangladesh bank. Raw data related to SME may be collected from SME Division of Jamuna Bank Limited. Then all the information may be arranged and grouped according to their specific classification.

Primary Sources Major sources of Primary information will be collected through discussing with my colleagues, Manager Operation, Credit In charge, Head of Branch, etc. Secondary Source Sources of secondary information are as follows: Internal Sources: Banks Annual Report Group Business Principal

Limitation
Time might be a major constraint in accumulating all sorts of information. Due to time limitation many aspects might not be included in the study because SME is a vast subject. Non-disclosure of some basic information might occur in the report. Every organization has their own secrecy that should not be disclosed to others. While collecting data on Jamuna Bank Ltd., it is obvious that all information can not be disclosed for the sake of confidentiality of the organization.
