1.1.1 Development of BMCO Website:

The following are technologies that are going to be utilized on this project: Content Management System (CMS) A content management system (CMS) is a system used to manage the content of a Web site. Typically, a CMS consists of two elements: the content management application (CMA) and the content delivery application (CDA). The CMA element allows the content manager or author to manage the creation, modification, and removal of content from a Web site without needing the expertise of a Webmaster. The CDA element uses and compiles that information to update the Web site. Some of the features of a CMS system - Web-based publishing (allows individuals to use a template or a set of templates approved by the organization, as well as wizards and other tools to create or modify Web content), format management (allows documents including legacy electronic documents and scanned paper documents to be formatted into HTML or Portable Document Format (PDF) for the Web site), revision control (allows content to be updated to a newer version or restored to a previous version), and indexing, search, retrieval, tools for one-to-one marketing. Graphics/Images Optimization Another technique is available to optimize and speed up a website application loading time. Graphics is one area where optimizing can help. Domain registration, Hosting & Maintenance of the BMCO Website Domain registration service is a very easy process and activation of the domain and email services will take 72 hours after the hosting is confirmed. Cloud hosting is recommended for BMCO website as the traffic to the website may increase/ decrease over time and the need for hosting space/ bandwidth may also change. Cloud Hosting is different from regular shared hosting which offers instantly available server instances in a variety of sizes. User can upgrade, downgrade, or remove a server at any time. Google Apps is initially recommended for email hosting since up to 50 custom accounts like you@example.com can be hosted for free and has the familiar interface of gmail which is also customizable to users need; additionally this service is also upgradable. Beyond Technologies offers to maintain the website and domain & hosting controls on yearly contract basis at a very affordable cost.
