2) 7 Jan,2011 - Kolkatta Paper Type Test Date Posted By : Candidate Experiences : 7 January 2011 : Tapash Debnath

Test Location : St. Thomas College Of Engg & Tech. Kolkata

Hello Friends, This is Tapash from St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology (Kolkata). Infosys came to our college on 7 th January. At first they start with a boring ppt presentation by Mr. Tanveer singh, who is looking like rocket singh. What I like in the presentation is the training of Infosys at Mysore, which can fail any 5 sta r hotels in accommodation. Ok now coming to the topic, our aptitude exam starts from 10.45. And one most thing you have to know about Infosys is that the toughest part of the placement procedure of Infosys is that the aptitude examination. As you clear the aptitude examination you can sit back and relax that if you dont make a mess in interview they will not throw you out. And resul will prove it. In IEM 195 cleared aptitude examination and they will hire 194 of them. An also in our college out of 230 on ly 137 cleared the aptitude examination and only one is eliminated in interview round as she just cant speak in front of an interviewer. Now you may think that the paper of INFY in very tough. But that is not the case. The main constraints are y Infosys is very strict in cut-off marks. Cut-off marks for verbal section is 50% of the total marks and in analytical part the cut-off marks is 60% of total marks. I.e. you have to get 20 out of 40 in verbal section and 18 out of 30 in analytical section. But dont afraid question is not so tough.

y Another notable point is to you have to manage time as in verbal section you have to answer 40 marks only in 35 mins but in analytical section you have to answer 30 marks in 40 mins. So In analytical part you get enough time. Now in analytical section the questions are on * Non verbal series (little bit tougher 5 questions) * Cubes (like a cube of 10 cm length of each side is cut into 1000 equal small cubes. And outer side is coloured in black of 1 cm width and then another 1cm painted blue in all the side and that related questions. Very easy but time consuming so you have practice this type of questions from R.S Aggarwal non verbal book cubes and dices chapter 5 questions) Another question from puzzle (see R.S Aggarwal puzzle section similar type easy but time consuming). A data interpretation question (very easy). Now in the verbal section two passages are there (easy one you can easily answer if you read it) There are sentence completions (options are given you have to put the right ones in the blanks given). There are questions like one statement given and some part is underlined, we have to replace that section with the correct option. (4 options given) these are mainly on subject and verb agreement. There are questions on reordering of sentences. There are questions to find the correct sentence from the 4 sentences given. There are questions on syllogisms in which 5 to 6 statements are given and 4 options are given, you have to find which option agree with the statements given like R.S Aggarwal logic 1B chapter question 28 to 55. In HR round its seems like only formality. All the HRs are old but all are very very friendly. They are only taking interview for 5 mins maximum. And as all know Inf osys only asks HR questions. Me: May I come in mam HR: Yes please Me: Good Afternoon Mam HR: Good Afternoon HR: So Tapash tell me something about yourself. Me: Told HR: What does your father do? Mother and do you have any siblings? What he do? Me: Told HR: So you have done project on switching transients on utility systems? Tell me what have you done? Me: I started but in middle she told me that you have done your vocational training in Mython right? what you have seen there? Me: Told HR: Ok tell me how will you pursue anyone to take an action with example. Me: I cant remember anything so I firmly told her that mam I can't remember it now. HR: Ok then give me an example where you deal with any bad person and how? Me: I gave it HR: Thank you very much Tapash

Me: Thank you Mam. Our result announced at about 9 pm and I got selected. If you think this post is helpful for you please comment on this. And if you have any questions you can contact me Tapash Debnath (+91)7501742009

4) Jan 9, 2011 - Ghaziabad Paper Type Test Date : General - Interview : 9 January 2011 : Abhimanyu Garg

Test Location : Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad Posted By

Hi Friends, I'm Abhimanyu Garg from Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad. Infosys came to our college on 9th January, 2011 and out of 360 elligible students 202 were finally selected. The Infosys selection procedure comprises of, 1. Written test 2. HR interview The written test comprises of 2 sections. 1. Logical reasoning test (30 questions, 40 mins) 2. Verbal test (40 questions, 30 mins) Our test started at 7.00 pm in the evening and first the logical test paper was given and after 40 mins the logical paper was taken and verbal test paper was distributed. Time management is the key thing while attempting the Infosys test. There is sectional cut-off which is not fixd but I guess it might be around 60% for logical test and 50% for verbal, generally the verbal section is considered to b the tougher one. Logical section consisted of,

1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Odd figure out(5 questions)(straight from R.S Aggarwal) 2 Puzzle test(10 questions)(prac from R.S Aggarwal) Data sufficiency(5 questions)(not from R.S Aggarwal) Data Interpretation(5 questions)(R.S Aggarwal quantitative) Logic/Syllogism(5 questions)(R.S Aggarwal)(easy)

Prepare for logical test from R.S Aggarwal verbal/non -verbal book. Verbal section consisted of, 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Small comprehension Bigger compression Sentence completion Error Detection Sentence improvement Inference/Theme detection

Prepare for verbal from R.S Aggarwal objective english book. After that at around 11.30 pm the result for written was declared. The written test is the main elimination round and in our college out of 360, 217 cleared the written. Just what one needs to keep in mind is to remain calm and manage the time as there is no negetive marking so all the questions need to be attempted. The interviews wer conducted on 10th from 10.30 am onwards. It is simply an H.R interview and they just check your communication skills. My interview: My name was called. Me: May i come in sir? HR: Yes please, have a seat. HR: Can you give me your CV. Me: Handed over the CV. HR: So Abhimanyu whats your daily routine? Me: Told. HR: If I give you a project how would you start, what would be your approach? Me: Told. HR: You have written "firm determination" in your stength, can you justify that? Me: I had already prepared for this one, told confidently. HR: You have mentioned several extracurricular activities in your CV. Can you give an instance of when you have coordinated an event and how u handled it? Me: Told confidently. HR: Do you have any questions? Me: Had already thought about it so asked. HR: Ok, you can go now. Me: Thank you sir.

And at 6.00 pm in the evening the final results were announced and I was lucky to be one of the 202 selected students. I can proudly say I'm an Infosysian now. All the very best! Meet you at Infosys.

There were 20 sacks of gold to be distributed among them as Rama was going to die. They all will get at least 3. B got 1 more than C. A got heighest and D got lowest. About maintainance of some project in R.S Aggarwal's aptitude book (21 to 25) was like from data sufficiency (exercise 17) in R.S Aggarwal's Reasoning book (26 to 30) sorry friends but I didn't attended this part. English: 1. Do prepare for preposition and preposition related errors .

2. Do remember word meanings for fill in the blanks. 3. Our phrase was quite easy (2 phrases were there I suggest you to do this in short period by first reading the question and find sentence related to it, you will defenitely get the answer.) 4. Theme detection Interview: It was quite easy as they (HR) were quite sober natured even though he reacted quite different than I presumed the result says it was quite smooth. HR: Hello MS Champakali. Me: Hello sir HR: You have listed so many strenths in your Resume, can you justify all of them with your past. Me: Started with example.
