WAPDA Engineering ACADEMY

WAPDA(water and power development Authority) is one of the government institute in Pakistan. Whose main work is to control and to process the electricity in whole pakistan ,Whether it may be production of electricity or distribution and utilization stages of electricity to the customers. All work about Generation ,Transmission and distribution is done by Wapda. In addition to this Wapda control the water energy and utilization in whole country.

Wapda Engineering Acadmy is the project of wapda in which education and training given to the employee And also to fresh engineers.So that they practically handle all the work in the field.In this training they got so much grip that they easily handle practical work themselves.So,this acadmy have Qualified Teachers and Simulators Which is like actual Simulators. So,training done on these simulators , other equipments and also by seeing practical work on different parts of field with own eyes. Also this Acadmy provide facilities to the trainee to visit the whole setup of Wapda.

132 KV Grid station Transformer Repairing Workshop. Gas Power Plant. Steam Power Plant. Combined cycle Power Plant. Turbine Parts Repairing workshop.

Practicals:

Meter lab. On Simulators. Sagging of Conductor On poles. Detection of fault on 11KV lines. Relays Operation and Construction. Equipment Used by line Men Material and tools used in Fault detection, digging a pole and things used in while laying Conductor On pole. Electrical Motors Construction. Practical Work on transmission and Distribution simulator of 132 Kv. Line practicals Transformer labs Demonstration on Grid simulators. Winding of wires on pole Insulators.

GENERATION
Two weeks are specially we for generation in our internship.In which study about the different method of generation of Electricity in Pakistan.We come to Know that tarbella DAM in Pakistan is largest Dam in Pakistan with Generation largest capacity of 3478MV.AFTER it Gazi Brotha Come with a capacity of 1478 MV.Then Mangla DAM come with a capacity OF 1000 MV.

In addition to this we see the simulators of steam power plant and Gas power plant.And we see the auxiullary of the simulators which is like a actual ones.

Simulator. In This Section of Internship I also visit the steam and gas power plant of Faisalabad. And also see the combined cycle.In Faisalabad There is Four combined cycle installed.In addition to this we visit turbine maintainance workshop in this section.
