Write your answers in the spaces provided herein or as instructed. CIRCUIT I: 1. Consider the circuit diagram below. Use Ohms Law and the sets of formulas [series and parallel connections] discussed in class to find the quantities at the right of the diagram: a. The total resistance, [RT] b. The total current, [IT] c. The amount of currents that passes through each of the resistors [I1, I2, I3, I4 and I5] d. The voltage drops across each of the resistors [V1, V2, V3, V4 and V5] [Use the back for your computations.] 2. The resistances of the resistors and the total voltage are the following. The total voltage, VT=20 volts and the resistances R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are 10 , 10 , 5 , 5 and 10 , respectively. 3. Assemble a circuit equivalent to the diagram above using the simulation. Do NOT forget to right-click on the resistors and dry cell to change the resistances and voltage; making it the same with the values stated in item 2. 4. Check your answers (computation) by using the tools (ammeter and voltmeter) connected to the simulated circuit. Write a sentence or two about how did you connect ammeters and voltmeters to determine the current and voltage. ________ __________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________ CIRCUIT II: 1. Check your answers (computation) by using the tools (ammeter and voltmeter) connected to the simulated circuit. PART IV: Overloading ^_^ Create a circuit using a drycell, a resistor, and wires. Connect an ammeter in series with the drycell. Note the reading in the ammeter. Now, add another resistor across (parallel) the first resistor. Note also the reading in the ammeter. Continue adding resistors (1 at a time) across the other resistors and observe how the ammeter readings vary as the loads parallel with the voltage source increases. Based on what you just observed with increasing loads, how could you explain the prohibited act of the PUD (or any electric company) that is known to many as octopus wiring or overloading. Write your explanation in the box below
