CONTINUING EDUCATION
This course is designed to introduce participants to letters of credit and other documentary credits commonly used in international trade transactions (importing/exporting). Participants will become familiar with the primary governing bodies that regulate the issuance and negotiation of documentary credits and the internationally agreed rules that govern their operation. They will also learn common shipping terms/conditions and the responsibilities and risks assumed by all parties to documentary credit methods.
This course will provide participants with the knowledge to apply ratio, trend and other financial analysis techniques in interpreting the financial health, credit worthiness and investment potential of a firm. The course will serve as a foundation for those seeking to build knowledge in bank lending and investments.
This seminar covers the fundamentals of Islamic banking and finance and its theory and practice related to retail, commercial and wealth management products. In addition, issues involving regulatory challenges and aspects of Sharia will be addressed.
This two-day engaging and interactive seminar enables participants to value and develop world-class customer service skills. The focus is on motivating front-line staff to take ownership for excellence and to enable and equip them to meet the customer service needs of retail banking clients.

This text is available at the CNA-Q bookstore at a cost of 650 QR (approximate). The goal of this seminar is to enable procurement professionals to better understand procurement contracts, improve their relationship with the procurement lawyers at their organizations and better represent their organization to external stakeholders, suppliers in particular. More specifically, this seminar exposes participants to a brief introduction of eight areas of contract law subject matter: the basics of contract formation; the basics of contract interpretation; the concept of good faith; making contracts better with certainty; representations and warranties; assignment; termination; and indemnity and liability.

This course regards performance management as a powerful tool to increase both employee and organizational performance. It is designed to provide learners with a general view of performance management and to emphasize performance appraisal, including issues, uses and methods of appraising the performance of human resources.
This course is designed to familiarize the learner with the major practical process, issues and techniques involved in training and development functions. Attention is given to the importance of each of these areas within the human resource management field and practical application for human resource employees.
This course offers a summary of financial and accounting principles, terms and calculations that are relevant for non-financial employees who handle financial data. Learners will analyze and interpret commonly used financial information in making business decisions and working more effectively with financial managers in their organization. Emphasis is on the application and understanding of financial information rather than its preparation. The course will enable learners to communicate financially related matters more effectively, understand how performance is measured within an organization, read and use company reports, and grasp other managerial accounting aspects.
This course is an introduction to health and safety in the workplace. It emphasizes the importance of how to develop a safety culture at work, detailing the various types of workplace health and safety hazards. The legal, financial and human consequences of an unsafe workplace are presented, together with the contemporary issues in health and safety.
This course is designed to provide learners with an introduction to the use of human resource information systems (HRIS). Emphasis is on the practical aspects of how technologies, such as the Internet, intranet and web-based applications, influence the administration of human resource activities designed to attract and retain valuable employees and to add value to an organization.

The American Heart Associations Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of hospital. The goal of the ACLS provider course is to improve the quality of care provided to the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergency. In this course students will enhance their skills in the treatment of arrest and peri-arrest patients through active participation in a series of simulated cardiac and respiratory cases. These simulations are designed to reinforce the importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival, the integration of effective basic life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions, and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.
Standard First Aid teaches comprehensive First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques for those who need training for work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies in the workplace or home. The course covers a variety of topics from basic topics, such as cardiovascular and breathing emergencies, CPR Level C, automated external defibrillator (AED) and prevention of disease transmission, to in-depth topics, such as sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine.
This course was designed by the American Heart Association to prepare a wide variety of healthcare professionals to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This course includes adult, child and infant rescue skills in both out-of-hospital and in-hospital settings.
This course will examine the introductory aspects of food microbiology and its relationship to food quality and food safety protection. An examination of the major types of food products will be included, with special emphasis on the factors contributing to the growth of spoilage and pathogenic microorganisms and the means in which they can be controlled. The student will receive training in basic food safety.
Emergency First Aid teaches simple First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques taught in an interactive environment for individuals who want an overview of First Aid and CPR for the workplace or home. The course covers skills needed to recognize, prevent and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for adults and children, CPR Level C, automated external defibrillator (AED), and other topics such as choking, airway and breathing emergencies, as well as prevention of disease transmission.
This course is designed to be delivered to managers and operators that deal with specific management-oriented issues in the food service industry. Developing and planning a Food Safety Plan with the emphasis on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) systems will be examined in detail. The characteristics and common causes of food-borne illnesses will be discussed. The biological, chemical and physical agents that lead to food-borne illness will be discussed, in addition to effective management techniques in dealing with consumer complaints. Students who successfully complete the course will receive Advanced Food Safety Certification.

Using MS Office products, students will gain knowledge in database development as well as advanced features of electronic spreadsheets. These include designing a database and creating dynamic queries using Access and creating charts, graphs, templates and data tables using Excel.
Instrument transfer is one of the basic functions the dental assistant performs in four-handed dentistry. In this course, students will learn to efficiently transfer instruments and materials to the operator to ensure productivity and safety while reducing fatigue and stress. The course will emphasize instrument identification and classification, basic rules of instrument transfer, tray setup, potential instrument problems, one- and two-handed transfer, transfer modifications, safe instrument handling and instrument maintenance.
This course will introduce participants to key concepts in project management. Participants will learn how to employ industry best practices to manage project delivery in terms of scope, time, cost and quality. Participants will learn techniques to plan a project and estimate its costs, resource needs and duration, and to manage a project to its defined deliverables, time and cost.
This course provides an introduction to the topic of professional ethics. The student will be introduced to the ethical and legal expectations of the profession and workplace. Students will consider their role in their professional team and will develop an understanding of the standards of conduct and their obligation in the interaction with other professionals and clients.

Tooth morphology is the study of the structure and form of teeth. This course will introduce the location, eruption schedule and function of each tooth in the primary and permanent dentition. The terminology presented in this course provides the building blocks for dental terminology.

This is a communicative EFL course series intended for adult learners. The course will introduce basic English skills essential for success in personal and professional life and will encourage students to become independent users of English. The series is comprised of nine levels of study and students will be placed in the appropriate level according to their language abilities.
This course is designed for individuals involved in x-ray machine operation who need to develop their skills and expertise in recognizing and identifying threats and prohibited items. This interactive training uses computer-based training software and hands-on experience on how to search baggage and people. Learn how to use walk-through metal detectors and how to conduct searches using handheld metal detectors.
This is an EFL course series with an emphasis on business themes. It is designed to review business tasks and functions based on speaking and listening skills. Students will also have the opportunity to further improve their ability to read and write in English and to understand and use basic grammar patterns. The series is comprised of six levels of study and students will be placed in the appropriate level according to their language abilities.
This preparatory review course will enhance a students English abilities in speaking, listening, reading and writing. In addition to language acquisition, students will also receive a thorough review of mathematical skills. Students will have the opportunity to write the CNA-Q Academic English and Mathematics Placement Tests. Should the student successfully achieve the required band scores, they will be eligible to enroll at CNA-Q.
