River. You cross the South River twice, once on Rte 535 and again on the old Matawan Rd. The South River is tidal and is home to many small
boats. There are many Delicatessens and convenience food stores along Rte 35 and in South Amboy from mile 15.3 to 17.1.At mile 27.7 there is
a neighborhood store group and at mile 30.8 there is a shopping center on Rte 9 with a Pizza Parlor with bathrooms. There are some hills on this
trip. While you ride along Rte 35 for 2.7 miles there is either a paved shoulder or a full third turn off lane almost the whole way.
