Experimental study of Tips Design on Lightning Air Terminal

This project require the students to do experiment to see the performance of different configuration of tip design such as standard, blunt, flat, etc. and the test will be under three different conditions. The design of experiment approach will be used to run the experiments and to analyze the data so that the best design of lightning air terminal can be determine. This study require the student to do experiment to determine factors (types of soil, chemical content, water control, temperature and humidity) that effect soil resistivity. The experiment will be conducted by using soil resistivity tester and based on factorial design. Statistical analysis will be perform to determine the effect of each factors to soil resistivity.

This project require the students to design and do experiment on different types of earth electrodes such as conventional rod and hollow copper road that will be install at Experimental study of ground resistance different type of soil. This study require the student to collect data from all production lines of machine and process capability from a company. Data gained will be analyze by using statistical process control such as control charts, CUSUM and EWMA charts. Result from the analysis will show whether the machine and processes were sufficient or the production line was stable or not.

Development of Depth Sensor System for Student will develop a depth sensor system for seabed mapping using Echo Sounding technique. Student will test the seabed mapping on simulated for depth mapping and Seabed mapping uses Echo Sounding around Melaka Lake or river. The accuracy of sea bed mapping will be analyzed. technique Student will be design an integrated sensor such as inertial measurement unit IMU, pressure sensor, digital compass and temperature sensor. A fully active suspension system aim is to control the Modeling and Design of an Active Car suspension over the full bandwidth of the system. It is considered to be the way of Suspension System using Half Car Model increasing load carrying, handling and ride quality. This project will presents the performance analysis and comparison of different PWM The analysis of Cascaded H-Bridge startegies for cascaded H-Bridge inverter . From the results, the conclusions can be made which strategy gives lower THD. The improvement and optimization of the the focus is on the design and developtment of Stand Alone PV system, which consists of 187 power management interfacing for PV PV arrays,lead acid battery, converter,inverter and controller. system 188 The study on Reverse Voltage topology this study will give an overview of a new multilevel inverter topology named reversing voltage. It will focus on the ability of this new topology to compensating the drawbacks of the conventional Multilevel Inverter The main objective is to build a PV heating system which is able to absorb solar energy and convert into electrical energy.It is an off grid system where the system is managed by controller. The objective is to develop the speed control of the Motor using PID controller.

Investigate the performance of flux estimation of DTC as the stator resistance varies due Power Electronics and to the temperature changes. Comparison between voltage and current models of flux Drives estimation on the DTC performances particularly at low speed operations. Student will learn some important elements in electric vehicle systems, particularly in Power Electronics and the battery management system (which consist of Lithium-ion battery, DC-DC converter, Drives fuel-cell or solar-energy source and, etc.). Identify the advantages of the multiphase inverter (in terms of current ripple, THD and efficiency), compared to the conventional, i.e. three-phase voltage sourse inverter (VSI). Power Electronics and The static load that is resistive-inductive load will be applied to investigate the Drives performance. The control algorithm of SPWM for 6-phase VSI will be implemented using a labview software. Student will design a prototype 3-phase VSI that consists of gate drivers, IGBTs, snubber circuits, current protection and FPGA. The FPGA is resposible to provide blanking time Power Electronics and generator and SVM algorithm. The prototype inverter is flexible to be employed for Drives motor control and Photo Voltaic applications.
