Masters in Business Administration Course Description of Business Communication and Professional Speech Course Co-coordinator: Muhammad Niaz Khan (Muhammad_niaz@yahoo.com) Technical Writing Essentials This course focuses on the ability of students to communicate confidently and correctly with their competitors. Moreover the course emphasizes on the ability to communicate successfully across cultural boundaries. The difficulties in communicating effectively become crystal clear, when people are placed in unfamiliar situations. An interview, a meeting, writing a report; all these elements of B.C. give tough time to trainees, when they confront them for the first time. Effective communication is a skill, and hence it can be learned through extensive training. Students will be exposed to theories and concepts that underlie effective oral and written communication skills. They will learn to collect, organize, analyze and present information in an understandable and logical order, understand the nature of non-verbal communication and be able to use it effectively in oral and written presentations. Assignments and Projects will be assigned to students so that they could implement concepts in their communication. Inculcating abilities of persuasive and informative speech to our business graduates is our hallmark. A brief overview of rhetoric will help business graduates to become effective communicators.
