AC-DC sensitive residual current circuit-breaker DFS 4 B+, Type B+, 4-pole, for fire protection up to 20 kHz at max. 420 mA tripping current.

Function:
AC-DC sensitive residual current circuit-breakers (Type B+ RCCBs) for the provision of the Protection by automatic disconnection of the power supply safety measure in installations with electronic equipment in accordance with standards VDE 0100-410, VDE 0160, and corresponding international design regulations. Suitable for fire protection up to 20 kHz at max. 420 mA tripping current as per the recommendation of VdS Guideline 3501. Devices in the DFS 4 B+ model range detect smooth DC residual currents as well as all other Type B residual currents as per IEC 60755. The evaluating circuit integrated for this purpose requires an operating voltage which is taken from mains power. The correct power supply is ensured when the voltage between two or more active wires is at least 50 V. Tripping due to Type A residual currents will also occur, even if there is no mains voltage across the active wires, i.e. the device is mains voltage-independent. Furthermore, the DFS 4 B+ is able to detect all residual currents with frequencies up to 20 kHz at a max.

420 mA tripping threshold. Compared to devices with a B SK characteristic, a device with a B+ characteristic therefore offers higher fire protection even in the case of residual currents with frequencies above the rated frequency. With appropriate earth resistance, residual current protection as specified in VDE 0100-410, can be achieved across the total frequency range of residual current detection. The maximum permissible earth resistances are the quotients of the permissible contact voltage and the maximum tripping residual current within the total frequency range covered. As the tripping current frequency sequence of the DFS 4 B+ is significantly below the characteristic line of a DFS 4B SK with the same residual operating current rating, its employment presupposes lower leakage currents in the installations to be monitored.

Characteristics:
4-pole AC-DC sensitive for residual currents with frequencies and combination frequencies from 0 Hz (smooth DC current) up to 20 kHz Extensive type range with:

rated currents from 16 A to 125 A rated residual operating currents from 0.03 A to 0.3 A Compact design for all current ratings VDE test mark granted to V VDE 0664-110 High immunity to transient leakage and residual currents due to slow response of the trip function Electromagnetic compatibility in accordance with VDE 0664-30, as well as VDE 0839-6-2 (Interference Immunity for Industrial Applications) High availability also in respect of the voltage-dependent detection of smooth DC residual currents and AC residual currents with frequencies 50/60 Hz due to full functionality at mains voltages from min. 50 VAC at any 2 active wires Mains voltage-independent tripping with residual currents of Type A Highly short-circuit proof Double-deck terminals for large wire diameter and rail connection at both ends Switch position indication View panel for labels Multi-function switch lever with three functions:

On (up position) Off (down position) Tripped indication (central position); when the DFS 4 B+ is tripped as a result of a fault, the switch lever adopts the central position In standard version neutral wire on left; every 4-pole RCCB up to 80 A also available with N on the right, no additional charge
