ABOUT THE CORPORATE COUNCIL ON AFRICA

Established in 1993, The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) is dedicated to strengthening the commercial relationship between the United States and the nations of Africa. CCA carries out industry-specific programs that promote business partnerships, raise Africas investment profile in the United States, develop CCA member companies business networks, and provide for the exchange of information about business opportunities in Africa.

The 2009 U.S.-Africa Business Summit was an amazing line up of very high powered and engaged decision makers and administration supporters. All info was highly relevant and interesting and served to further the business and trade development between US corporations/ businesses and African countries. Spot on! Melanie Baker, Dyncorp International LLC

The African continent is among the fastest-growing economic regions in the world, attracting foreign direct investment from businesses small to large from around the globe. According to the Harvard Business Review, Africa and Asia were the only continents to grow during the recent economic recession. Africas growth rate increased to nearly 5% in 2010 and is likely to reach 5.2% in 2011. Africa offers a higher return on investment than any other emerging market, according to UN data; and is home to a tremendous market of more than 900 million potential consumers. This reliable growth is due not only to the wealth of opportunities available in Africa, but also due to its continued efforts for greater political stability and an unprecedented level of government reform to attract foreign investment. Africa has proven itself to be an essential asset for any company.

CCAs 180-plus members range from Americas largest to smallest businesses, and represent approximately 85 percent of total U.S. private sector investment in Africa. They come from 19 identifiable sectors, including natural resources development, infrastructure, energy, agribusiness, healthcare, security, telecommunications, and finance. For more information on CCA, visit www.africacncl.org. The Corporate Council on Africa is a 501 (c) 3 corporation.

CONFERENCE ACTIVITIES
The conference will include more than 30 comprehensive plenary and workshop sessions, during which participants will obtain the latest information on trade and investment opportunities across Africas most promising sectors. These sessions will be led by U.S. and African leaders whose expertise stems from their successful ongoing ventures in Africa. You will be introduced to new business opportunities and learn detailed information about projects that are ripe for investment. The conference will also include a Summit EXPO, giving companies and organizations the opportunity to showcase their services and/or products to as many as 2,000 participants.
