November: TBD Scouting For Food TIGER DEN The Tiger den had our first meeting this month. We had a great time welcoming new scouts and reviewing the requirements for our Bobcat Rank. Recruitment has gone well and we will be adding some new boys to our den in the following weeks. The Tigers are excited to join Pack 201 and are looking forward to meeting the older scouts and earning their Tiger Ranks and belt loops. WOLF DEN The boys are looking forward to Rileys Farm. BEAR DEN 1 The boys had a great summer! The boys are starting to earn their heritage belt loop as well as other belt loops. We look forward to a great year in Cub Scouts and the boys are looking forward to Riley's Farm and the pinewood derby. BEAR DEN 3 Bear Den 3 welcomed a Guest Speaker to their September 13th Den Meeting. Scott Ethrington, Institutional Head of Boy Scout Troop 1830 in Northern California, helped the Bears with their achievement on The Past is Exciting and Important. Scott, a former Eagle Scout, discussed Scouting history, California history and his experiences as a young Scout with the Bears. Thank you, Scott! FIRST YEAR WEBELOS/4TH GRADERS This has been a very patriotic month for the Webelos den as the boys have worked on their Citizen belt loop and Activity Badge. The scouts and their families went on an outing to the Reagan Presidential library in Simi Valley where they not only learned about a great American, but they also got to touch a piece of the World Trade Center that fell on September 11, 2001, as well as a piece of the Berlin Wall. We also had our very first overnight campout in our den leader's backyard. We roasted weenies and made S'mores, and woke up bright and early to make omelets in a bag and break the ice in the pool! At a recent den meeting, the boys were surprised by a visit from Danger Dan, a local businessman who drives a one-man electric car all over town. He helped the boys with their Engineering Activity badge by explaining how his vehicle is energy efficient. Next up, the Webelos will continue to work on their Outdoorsman, Physical Fitness, and Scholar Activity Badges! x PINEWOOD DERBY will be held in the spring, date TBD! x Class B t-shirts are available for $10.
