-------------------------------------------------------------------------1.0 Additional Information 1.1 How to uninstall this product * To uninstall this product go to :START MENU -> SETTINGS -> CONTROL PANEL * Double click on the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon * Scroll down until you see Cow Hunter and highlight it * Click on the ADD/REMOVE button 1.2 Patches * For the latest Cow Hunter patches visit http://www.xicat.com 1.3 Adding your own sounds and graphics * It is perfectly feasible to add your own sounds and graphics. Unless we receive substantial feedback this shall remain a completely unsupported feature. All level data is contained within ASCII INI files, graphics in 24-bit BMP files, and sounds in WAV files. The .ini files are relatively well documented and readable to anyone reasonably technical. If you do some 'interesting' levels, and we can think of plenty that we can't do due to possible copyright infringements, then send an email to cowhunter@tunatech.com to let us know. Perhaps we'll offer a place to host your work!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------2.0 Problem Solver 2.1 The game won't load * Close down any applications, including virus killers, before starting Cow Hunter. * Cow Hunter requires DirectX 6 or higher to work. * DirectX 6 is provided on the Cow Hunter CD. To install it, insert the CD and follow the on-screen instructions. * If you are running Windows NT, you need to be running a version capable of supporting DirectX 6 or higher. At the time of writing only Windows NT 5 is expected to support this. This product has not been tested on Windows NT 5. * If you have problems with any other DirectX based games, contact your hardware provider and explain the problem. You should also check http://www.microsoft.com for further DirectX updates. 2.2 The mouse won't work * There is a known problem on a very small minority of machines where the mouse cursor fails to move. Please check the website for the latest patches:- http://www.xicat.com 2.3 The game runs slowly * Using the Preferences tool, try running the game in 24-bit mode rather than 16-bit mode. * Buy a faster machine! 2.4 I've read the above, but am still having problems * The first thing to try is uninstalling the current version, and reinstalling the product, possibly using a different install option to the one you tried before. * If you are running any other software concurrently, exit it or disable it as appropriate. This includes virus killers or windows tools not provided by Microsoft. * Whilst it is possible you have a faulty CD, it is more likely to be a slight incompatibility with your PC. Possible culprits include soundcards and possibly even network cards. You can disable these cards by doing the following:* Go to START MENU -> SETTINGS -> CONTROL PANEL * Double click on the SYSTEM icon * Click the DEVICE MANAGER tab * Locate your selected device, clicking any + signs as necessary

* Double click your selected device, and you are given the option to disable it. You may need to reboot your machine before you can test the product properly. * Remember to re-enable your hardware once you have finished testing for problems. -------------------------------------------------------------------------3.0 Cow Hunter Development Credits At Xicat Interactive Inc.
