Netvalue Public Limited Company has hired your team as IT consultants. This company is the only supplier of business equipment and office supplies in South East Asia. The lack of competition has caused the owners not to make major investments into the business. A nationally recognized competitor recently opened for business with plans to put Netvalue out of business. In response to this, the owners of Netvalue have decided to reinvest substantial sum of money in the company. Netvalues locally own a 4 story building and currently have already grown to a level where they now have resources of 40 staff and this figure is still growing. They have developed and spread their business to 6 strategic locations throughout South East Asia with more upcoming offices in other locations planned for 2012. These new offices will incorporate the retail concept coupled with local sales offices.

Netvalue first project is to develop a local area network. Before they invest money in the network, the owner wants to know more about networks, protocols multimedia and resources, of internet connections, language suitable operation programming

translator applications.

There is a need to set up a network for all the computers in the organization itself. This will include its application servers, print servers and other devices to cater for the growing number of employees and to improve connectivity between branches all around Malaysia. Another reason for them to set up a network is to enable every computer (node) in the office to have internet access by sharing the fast internet connection and proper connectivity to its devices. Prepare and create a proposal for LAN and WAN Design, suitable network devices and finally justify your proposal for Netvalue Public Limited Company.

3. Netvalue choosing a suitable programming language is one of the most important decisions an organization has to make when developing custom software. A poor choice can be a costly mistake, resulting in a program that is difficult to maintain, incompatible with other software, unproductive when used, or irreconcilable with existing platforms. The company currently use COBOL and Fortran. Three popular programming languages are C++, Java, and Visual Basic identified. This of the considerations that were outlined in this selecting a programming language was most important. Explain the operation of programming language translator software and apply that understanding to the development of suitable components of translator software.

Assignment Requirements

You are required to work in groups of three or four. Your report must be typed using Microsoft Word with Times New Roman font size 12. Expected length is from 2,800 to 3,000 words. You need to include a word count at the end of the report. Report should be in 1.5 spacing.

You are required to prepare PowerPoint, print out 6 slides in page and attach it in the last page of the assignment.

4.

As part of project management team, you are required to develop a Gantt chart (project plan) that indicates clearly the activities required in order for the project to be a success.

The report has to be well presented and should be typed. Submission of reports that are unprofessional in its outlook (dirty, disorganised, inconsistent look, varying coloured paper and size) will not fare well when marks are allocated.

6. Ensure that the report is printed on standard A4 (210 X 297 mm) sized paper. Paper weight of 80 grams and above is highly recommended. 7. The report should have a one (1) margin all around the page as illustrated below:
