Welcome Everbody to the very first Issue of Norm*l Issues! Norm*l is a new streetwear brand dedicated to parkour and freerunning. This magazine is a way of us letting you know whats going on with the brand and whats going on with the parkour and freerunning world. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge welcome and apologise if this is the worst magazine you have ever layed your eyes on... This is the first Issue and we have decided to feature the people who have most inspired us and we would like to pay homage to where we come from. We have featured athletes from Parkour Alliance and will be exploring the architecture of Norwich. We will also be showing off some clothing from Dilate, who currently sponser local team Parkour Alliance, we really love the designs we see from Dilate clothing and I would love to keep you guys up to date on their merchandise aswell as our own. Expect to see a whole bunch of Dilate in this Issue. We will also be testing some gear from 2WS, a clothing company from France who have been churning out some rather original and flaboyant designs that have been nicely modeled by the Yamakazi. Matthew Dickerson has performed some rather thorough product tests so you dont have to!

Also in this issue we will be taking a look at the first parkour park to hit Norfolk, sharing our own review of the apparatus, acompanied by some beautiful imagery. Hopfully you really enjoy this issue and if you want to be featured in the next issue then send us an email. We would love to feature your Photos and Articles so send them our way! Ya m a k a z i backed clothes line.

World Wild Soul or 2WS is a new sports brand that developed late 2010. 2WS is a lifestyle sports brand co-founded by the Yamakazi themselves. For those of you that dont know, The Yamakazi are considered by alot of people the founders of the art de dplacement (Parkour/Freerunning). Parkour Alliance have been chosen to perform a review of these products. This will comprise of personal opinions of the clothing from Matthew Dickerson (Treasurer of PKA). This review will cover many elements which will contribute to a summary of the products. The products that have been donated for testing are a pair of Jogging bottoms dubbed Big Ben and a hoodied sweater entitled Early Running. Style: The products certainly hold a unique and well thought out style which are adapted to the world of Parkour. The joggers are very wide cut and have an elasticated ankle to improve the leg fit. In addition there is a cumber bun type piece of fabric which can be folded down to firmly secure the joggers at the waist. The hoodie is a comfortable design which allows ease of movement while holding in all the right places. There is a large logo on the back which is stitched into the material. This makes for a very specific look which is unique to the 2WS clothing line.

Quality of the Fabric. The level of care put into the production of these items is very high. The material is very thick and comfortable to the touch. No expense has been spared in layering the fabric to create a very luxurious product. Wear and Tear. Both the joggers and the hoodie have taken a severe battering from the elements and seem as though they have been barely effected. These products will last for a very long time without deforming or breaking. Usability. In this area these products excel. They are so comfortable and really do adapt to vigorous movement while you are training. Price. This is the main bone of contention for this product line. All of the items are very expensive. This would deter most people, however if you have the money to spare the quality makes up for the price.

FMPK or Freedom in Movement Parkour are a free-running team from Norwich. The team is made up of 10 athletes who have trained hard in order to produce unique qualities in their freerunning. FMPK was started by Josh Hyland in October 2009 and since then has grown into what you see today. The team currently consists of; Josh Hyland, Toby Walter, Matty Mallett, Jonny Tembo, Shane Griffin, Sam Shephard, Antonin Bardot, Hadyn Wiseman, Jackson Franklyn, Charlie Skinner FMPK has been hired for many events in Norwich including; Sports Relief, Lords Mayors Performance, Slam Nights @ The Garage, OPEN Youth Venue, Demo for Children Protection and Jelly Festival FMPK is a perfect team to be hired for any event. With many connections around Norwich, FMPK have big things planned. Alongside the public performances, you will likely see many of the team training in and around the UK. FMPK create a showreel every year as well as many of the team releasing their own individual videos and showreels. So where did the name originate? Well In the beginning we were known as Freeflow Movement Parkour, however with a little help from Adam Carman, Freedom in Movement was born. The team has been continuously evolving since. FMPKs hard work paid off in august 2010 when they were granted their first sponsor, Shake!. Shake is a milk shake dispensary where you can go and get pretty much any chocolate, sweet or biscuit made into a milkshake, they also offer protein shakes which go down well with Hadyn and Jackson. As soon as the first sponsor came two more gained interest, No Fear Extreme energy drink and Jacket Off Clothing. No Fear Extreme energy is one of many energy drinks to rival Monster and Relentless. Jacket off Clothing is a company based in the U.S. who love extreme sports and FMPK fit the bill for these two companys.. FMPK received endorsements and with them created videos promoting their new sponsers. Several of our athletes are individually sponsored too. Matty Mallett and Jonny Tembo are sponsored by the well known Urban Freeflow and Josh Hyland is sponsored by KIK clothing (A welsh based Clothing company) and Drunkn Munky. With all these sponsors under their belt FMPK is a team up and coming. With connections to teams includng KLFR (Kings Lynn Freerun), PKA (Parkour Alliance), KIK Freerunning, Team Retrace, Passion Productions (Street Dance), Urban Artists and Urban Freeflow the possibilities are endless. FMPK are always looking for the next creative idea and with help from Matthew Martin many of these ideas are coming to life. Look out for the next FMPK Showreel coming later in the year, our youtube channel is www.youtube.com/FMPKtube Why not like the group on facebook and you could win one of our competitions! www.facebook.com/FMparkour Want to hire FMPK or just to find out more, email: fmparkour@gmail.com

On the right is some of the fine art that can be seen at the Costessey Parkour park, If you think you have what it takes to plaster a mural over the walls then contact us immediately. We are looking for a parkour and/or urban related piece to spread over the walls that currently have some... not too tasteful pieces of art work on. If you are chosen you will be asked to paint your design on the wall for all to see! Email us for further informaton at Normlbrand@gmail.com Good luck!

TIM

GAUDET

After a long hard day of training Tim and I went in search of the grimiest areas in Norwich to take some Filthy photos. The first place we came across was at the bottom of a huge abandoned office block. After squeezing under a fence and Tim leaping straight over it we found a nice array of blunt objects and a rusty knife set.... So we got to it and Tim started his assent up the side of the building. After discovering it was far too dangerous to get to the top we decided to get to taking some ground level shots. Tim Was busting some nice wallspins on a skinny ledge as seen on page 37.
