Fifteen years ago, Anna and Michael fell in love in the kitchen of Inn on the Twenty in the Niagara wine region where Michael was Executive Chef and Anna the Pastry Chef. Embracing an enthusiastic but relaxed attitude to both professional and home cooking, the Oslons believe in a common sense approach to seasonal cooking with locally-sourced ingredients. Currently, Michael teaches culinary arts at Niagara College and Anna is host of two cooking shows on Food Network: Sugar and Fresh with Anna Olson.

Day 1 - Saturday, June 4 Depart Toronto for Barcelona on Air Transat Day 2 - Sunday, June 5 Arrival in Barcelona
Arrival at Barcelona airport. Transfer to your hotel in the city centre. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant in Barcelonas famous boulevard, The Ramblas. Today dinner is included.

Day 5 - Wednesday, June 8 Cava Region Tour
After Buffet Breakfast at your hotel, board the bus with your tour guide for a trip to the sparkling wine (Catalonian champagne) region in Sant Sadurn DAnoia. Visit the Codorniu Caves and learn about Cava production including a tasting. Lunch at the Mirador de Les Caves restaurant. Following lunch visit the Caves Freixenet, together with Codorni, both are the most famous Cava cellars in Spain, followed by a tasting. Return to your hotel, dinner on your own. Today breakfast and lunch is included.

Day 3 - Monday, June 6 Barcelona City Tour


After Buffet Breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a walking tour of Barcelonas Old Town accompanied by your tour guide. Continue on to Las Ramblas street, visit the oldest flea market in Barcelona La Boquera, and the Plaza Real and Colombus monument. Board the tour bus for a trip to the Olympic Village in Montjuic, site of the International 1929 Exposition and 1992 Olympics, enjoy a panoramic view of Barcelona. Visit the Olympic Stadium, the Pueblo Espanyol to view typical regional architectural styles and stop for a Cava tasting followed by Tapas lunch at a restaurant in the Poble. Following lunch depart for Gaudi Barcelona to see some of the most important monuments built by this world famous Modernist architect highlighted at the end with a visit to the Holy FamilyChurch (la Sagrada Familia). Return to your hotel, dinner on your own. Today breakfast and lunch is included.

Day 6 - Thursday, June 9 Half-Day Barcelona Cooking Class


After Buffet Breakfast at your hotel, visit the Santa Catarina Market with your Chef to purchase the items needed to create a traditional Tapas meal. Proceed to the cooking school for your lesson. Once completed enjoy your meal, including Rioja Wine. Afternoon at your leisure, dinner on your own. Today breakfast and lunch is included.

Day 7 - Friday, June 10 Torres Winery & Montserrat Tour


After Buffet Breakfast at your hotel, board the bus for a tour of the famous Catalonian winery, Bodegas Torres, located in the wine region of El Peneds. Enjoy a short video about the history of the Torres family and their cellars followed by a tour through the Mas La Plana vineyard. Visit the Waltraud cellar, where the Estate wines are aged and then enjoy a wine tasting, followed by lunch with pairing wines at the Haienda of the Bodega. Board the bus for a tour the Monastery of the Virgin of Montserrat, Patroness of Catalunya. Return to the hotel, dinner on your own. Today breakfast and lunch is included.

Day 4 - Tuesday, June 7 Half-Day Barcelona Cooking Class


After Buffet Breakfast at your hotel, visit the Boquera Market with your Chef to purchase the items needed to create a traditional Mediterranean meal. Proceed to the cooking school for your lesson. Once completed enjoy your meal, including Rioja Wine. Sample menu: Gazpacho soup with Idiazbal Cheese Spanish Omelette (Tortilla de Patatas) Seafood Paella Crema Catalana (Creme Brule) Afternoon at your leisure, dinner on your own. Today breakfast and lunch is included.

Day 8 - Saturday, June 11 Barcelona


After Buffet Breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a day of leisure in Barcelona. In the evening, take a short walk from your hotel to a local traditional Tabao restaurant for a farewell buffet dinner and Flamenco show. Today breakfast and dinner is included.
