Scope All leading Automobile Manufacturers engage in the import / export
of vehicles to and from large number of countries, covering wide
spread of business relationships between regional GM
organizations, Suppliers and Alliance partners. Most of these
relationships are controlled and monitored in a point-to-point
model, which requires longer lead-time to start-up and dedicated
funding for its operation. Increased global sourcing activity,
including the addition of more alliance partners, has increased the
need for new interfaces. ICVM system is an attempt to address this
business need by developing a common, global approach to
“Source Product By any Market from any Producer” globally
within the GM and affiliate community.

About the This project is to connect the GM Australia Producer (Holden) and
Project GM North America (POMS) Market partners to one common ICVM
hub; Through this project the Holden Producer partner can export
vehicles to POMS Market Partner.

Wipro Technologies providing SeeBeyond middleware, which

refers to integrating the applications internally within the General
Motors in contrast to business-to-business (B2B) integration. The
availability of SeeBeyond middleware is very essential for XML
message transmissions between various business systems. To
achieve the above objective support is provided based on
onsite/offshore model.

Role
The following are the responsibilities I took as Project Trainee
 Requirements gathering and validation, gap analysis,
coding, testing, debugging and deployment.
 Understanding the business requirements. Understanding
the interfaces and implementing the business rules using
Java and SeeBeyond.
 Preparation of BRD & SRS documents.
 Preparation of Unit, System and UAT test cases.
 Unit testing, Integration testing, System Testing and UAT.

CLIENT and MAGELLAN G.P.S(Inc.) August 13 2007-till date

period
Scope The scope of work includes System testing – Bench
Verification. Which involves ‘On road navigation’ functionality
testing, user Customization & system settings testing, User
Interface testing, Performance tests and Compatibility testing.
There will be separate releases for North America and European
products. We initially are involved in testing the European models
namely Mini, ULC, Crossover and Venus families. Thereafter,
American models also been tested. All the testing activities are
done to provide product quality assurance to Magellan through
100% test procedure execution, well articulated test reports and
on time delivery

About the GPS- global positioning system plays a vital role in finding the
Project position of a moving object in the globe. Magellan is a leader in
the consumer, survey, GIS and OEM GPS navigation and
positioning markets.
This project which has been running form June 2007 is about
testing the GPS devices which we receive form Magellan. We get
the latest firmware release on weekly or fortnightly basis which
must be tested and validated. This project whose name (Magellan
Bench testing) implies that we test the device based on certain
standards that we and client agree. We do the exploratory testing
along with the test case execution which requires formation of
new test cases. The challenge lies in logging the bugs in sustained
versions and performing the O.S compatibility testing.
