after three preseason games, seventh-round selection QB Greg McElroy leads all rookies in passer rating (90.6), passing attempts (53), completions (33), touchdown passes (2) and passing yards (306). mcelroy is expected to see significant time against the eagles. through the preseason, Jets quarterbacks mark sanchez and Greg mcelroy have combined for a passer rating of 96.1, completing 56of-96 passes (61.4%) for 586 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. second-year LB Josh Mauga, and rookie LB Nick Bellore, both undrafted, have provided quality depth at inside linebacker. the two have combined for 21 tackles, two sacks and one interception during the preseason. the Jets defense has picked off six passes during the preseason, after recording just 12 interceptions in 2010. the starting defense has allowed only 13 points in 16 drives. For the preseason, the Jets have recorded a plus-four in the takeaway/give-away category, tied for second-best in the NFL this preseason. all six of the defenses turnovers have come on interceptions, while New Yorks two give-aways have come on fumbles. Quarterbacks (4), Returning Starter (1) Coach Matt Cavanaugh: Mark Sanchez finished the 2010 season with a career-high 3,291 yards, 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions for a passer rating of 75.3 on the season. His six career rushing touchdowns ties him for fourth amongst Jets quarterbacks in club history. He became only the second quarterback (Ben Roethlisberger 5, 2004-05) to start and win four postseason games in their first two seasons in the NFL. sanchez recorded a 127.3 passer rating on 16-of-25 passing for 194 yards and three touchdowns in the clubs win at Ne (1/16). It was the first time he has thrown three touchdown passes in a postseason game, and tied the club record for most in a single postseason game. He led the Jets on a five-play, 40-yard game-winning drive, in which he completed all three of his passes for 38 yards in the Wild Card victory at IND (1/8). the Jets win marked sanchezs third postseason win, the most by any QB in franchise history. In 2011, he has focused on improving his completion percentage. through three preseason games, sanchez has completed 60.5% of his passes on 26-of-43 passing for 280 yards, 3 tD and 0 INt. Veteran Mark Brunell signed with the Jets as a free agent (7/28/10). the three-time Pro Bowler, has missed both preseason games due to injury. 2011 seventh-round selection Greg McElroy has seen extended action in both preseason games, attempting the most passes (53), completing the most throws (33) and recording the highest passer rating (90.6) of any rookie. Firstyear passer Drew Willy, who has seen limited action this preseason, hails from Randolph, NJ, just nine miles from the teams Florham Park, NJ facility. Running Backs (6), Returning Starter (1) Coach Anthony Lynn: after spending two seasons as an understudy to thomas Jones and LaDainian tomlinson, Shonn Greene is slated to start at running back. In preseason action, he has averaged 4.6 yards a carry on 16 rushes. Greene finished the 2010 season with 766 yards and two touchdowns on 185 carries and added 70 yards on 19 carries in the Wild Card victory at IND (1/8). He registered his third postseason rushing touchdown, tied for most in franchise history, when he raced 16 yards for the Jets final score of the game at Ne (1/16). For his career, Greene has a 5.0 yard-per-carry average, the best among Jets rushers all-time that have carried the ball at least 40 times. Tomlinson is expected to serve as the Jets third-down back in 2010 after he led the team with 914 yards and six rushing touchdowns on 219 carries last season. His 52 receptions were second on the team. He recorded the second-most productive postseason game of his career at IND (1/8) when he rushed for two touchdowns and 82 yards on 16 carries (5.1 avg.). second-year fullback John Conner enters 2011 as the starter after spending one season learning from tony Richardson. Known as the terminator for his crushing blocks, Conner rushed for 44 yards and his first NFL touchdown on eight carries in 2010 season finale vs. BUF (1/2). 2010 fourth-round selection out of UsC, Joe McKnight, amassed a Jet season-high when he rushed for 158 yards on 32 carries vs. BUF (1/2). He is currently the Jets leading rusher this preseason with 95 yards on 21 carries. Fourth-round selection Bilal Powell has shown versatility and a powerful rushing style, recording 58 rushing yards, a touchdown and 29 receiving yards on four receptions. Young-veteran Chris Jennings, who registered the longest run (69-yards) in the preseason since RB Curtis martin in 1999. Wide Receivers (9), Returning Starters (1) Coach Henry Ellard:

mVP re-signed with the Jets this offseason and was named captain by Coach Ryan. the new members of the Jets receiving corps are 10-year veteran Plaxico Burress, fifth-round selection Jeremy Kerley and 15-year veteran Derrick mason. Burress returns to the NFL since last seeing action in 2008. He saw his first action in Week two of the preseason vs. CIN (8/21) and recorded three catches for 66 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown reception. Kerley, the leading candidate to replace Brad smith in the Jets Wildcat package, has recorded a rush, a pass attempt and a reception during the preseason. Mason brings his 924 (fourth among active players) career receptions to New York, after spending six seasons with Baltimore. Young veterans Patrick Turner and Logan Payne along with rookies Michael Campbell, Dan DePalma, and seventh-round selection Scotty McKnight round out the receiving corp. Tight Ends (5), Returning Starter (1) Coach Mike Devlin: Fourth-year Dustin Keller finished first on the team in receptions (55), and third in touchdowns (5) and receiving yards (687) last season. Matthew Mulligan and former undrafted rookie free agent Jeff Cumberland have both seen action as extra tight ends this preseason. Cumberland leads all Jet receivers with eight receptions for 120 yards in only two preseason appearances. Josh Baker has seen action in all three preseason games and has caught three passes for 45 yards. third-year veteran Keith Zinger rounds out the unit. Offensive Line (12), Returning Starters (5) Coach Bill Callahan: In 2006, Jets General manager mike tannenbaum focused on the offensive line, selecting LT DBrickashaw Ferguson fourth overall and C Nick Mangold 29th overall in the NFL draft. the two players have started 80 consecutive games together, making them the only two players who entered the league together to start their teams first 75 regular-season games on the same offensive line since 1970. Ferguson earned his second-consecutive Pro Bowl nod for his play last season. He was also awarded 2010 Pro Football Weeklys midseason all-Pro team honors, 2009 Pro Bowl honors and 2006 all-Rookie team honors by Pro Football Weekly and the Pro Football Writers association. During his first four seasons, mangold earned 2009 associated Press all-Pro honors, three consecutive Pro Bowl selections (08, 09, 10) and all-Rookie recognition in 2006 as voted by Pro Football Weekly and the Pro Football Writers association. also on the offensive line is third-year LG Matt Slauson, who earned the starting job after an impressive 2010 offseason and started every game last season. RG Brandon Moore leads the group and has started 105 consecutive games for the Jets. T Wayne Hunter who earned his first-career start at right tackle at PIt (12/19) and also started at CHI (12/26) and vs. BUF (1/2). Hunter also started the clubs 28-21 win at Ne (1/16) and the aFC Championship game at PIt (1/23). second-year players G/T Vladimir Ducasse and G Matt Kroul fill out the group along with first-year linemen Trevor Canfield, Pete Clifford, Dennis Landolt and Nevin McCaskill, in

addition to rookie Zane Taylor. Defensive Line (9), Returning Starters (2) Coach Mark Carrier and Jeff Weeks: Led by veteran starter DT Mike DeVito (5th season) and defensive captain NT Sione Pouha (7th season), the Jets field a defensive line with seven players who have three-or-less years of experience. the group was infused with two draft selections this season, DE Muhammad Wilkerson (first round, 30th overall) and NT Kenrick Ellis (third round, 94th overall). DeVito earned 11 starts and recorded 46 tackles in 2010. Pouha has started 29 games in the last two seasons for a defense that finished first overall in 2009 and fourth in 2010. He finished tied for the most tackles among Jets defensive linemen with 46 and recovered a team-high three fumbles and had two sacks last season. Marcus Dixon, who was awarded to the Jets off waivers (9/5/10) and registered his first-career sack when he dragged downed Bears QB Jay Cutler at CHI (12/26), helps provide depth along with Jarron Gilbert and Ropati Pitoitua, who missed all of 2010 due to an injury. Rounding out the defensive line are Martin Tevaseu, who saw action in the aFC Championship and has played in all three preseason games with a start vs. CIN (8/21) and at NYG (8/29), and first-year player Lorenzo Washington. Linebackers (12), Returning Starters (4) Coach Bob Sutton: Led by inside linebackers David Harris and Bart scott and flanked by versatile linebackers Bryan thomas and Calvin Pace, this unit allows the Jets defense to be one of the most multiple in the league. Harris, was re-signed to a long-term deal this offseason after he led the team in tackles for the third time in his four year career with 119 tackles and registered three sacks, a FR and two passes defensed. Scott, who is the tone-setter for the Jets defense, finished second on the team with 94 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one pass defensed. the reliable Thomas finished with 41 tackles, a team-leading six sacks, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. It was the first time he led the team in sacks since 2006, when he recorded 8.5. Pace missed the first four games of 2010 due to an injury and finished second on the team in sacks with 5.5. He recorded three sacks in the postseason. second-year LB Josh Mauga has solidified himself as the third inside linebacker after serving on special teams last season. In the preseason to date, he is tied for the team lead in tackles (7), has one sack and an interception. Dwight Lowery, who tied with Cromartie for the team-lead with three interceptions, moved to safety following a season-ending injury to Leonhard and made starts at PIt (12/19) and CHI (12/26). In his start at CHI, he intercepted and returned a Jay Cutler pass 20 yards for a touchdown. Prior to moving to safety, he clinched the Jets Week Five and six wins, returning an interception for a touchdown with under 2:00 to play vs. mIN (10/11) and recovering a fumble at DeN (10/17) on the Broncos final play. the secondary is rounded out with young-veterans Marquice Cole, Emanuel Cook and Ellis Lankster. Cole had two interceptions in 2010, one of which he returned for a touchdown. Rookies S Byron Landor, S Davon Morgan, CB Julian Posey and S Tracy Wilson are all looking to earn a roster spot this summer. In six postseason games during the last two seasons, the line has allowed the Jets to average 130.8 yards rushing a game. It is the most by any team that has played more than two postseason games during the span. Hes (LB David Harris) one of the most complete linebackers in our league. Hes an elite player who, for whatever reason, a lot of people dont appreciate. Jets Linebackers Coach Bob Sutton (New York Times, 8/1/10). In 2010, Harris was voted team mVP after he led the Jets defense with 119 tackles (90 solo). He added three sacks, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery to his statline.
In four seasons, Harris has led the team in tackles three times and finished second with 87 tackles in 2008 despite missing five games. In 2007, he led the team with 117 tackles despite not taking over starting duties until the eighth game of the season.

LB Calvin Pace finished the 2010 season just 0.5 sacks behind Jets sack leader LB Bryan thomas with 5.5, despite missing the first four games due to injury. For the season, he finished with 55 tackles. It is the second-consecutive season that he has missed the first four games of the schedule. Pace led the Jets in sacks in both 2008 (7) and 2009 (8). In the last game of the season vs. BUF (1/2), Pace recorded the second interception of his career along with a sack, three PD, three QHs and a tackle. Pace continued his sack production in the postseason, taking down Peyton manning in the Wild Card game (1/8 at IND), dropping tom Brady in the Divisional game (1/16 at Ne) and capping the postseason with a seven-yard sack of Ben Roethlisberger (1/23 at PIt).
