HOBUS Card and Sensor trouble shooting when Device Error for Tank Level Sensor was detected

/ indicated on MIP TT Controller

Date:13.09.2004 Revision A

These HOBUS D Card

1. 2. 3. Please be so kind and check that the +24V LED ( LED 1 ) is lightning, that means 24V are available The FUSE LED ( LED 2 ) should be off, if this LED is on, there are a short connection on Sensor side. The ERROR Led (LED 4 ) should be every time off, If Led is on, there are wrong datas on Data bus from sensor or the sensor / sensor cable have short connection. The RTS -S LED ( LED 3 ) , RxD-S LED ( LED 5 ) and the RxD B LED ( LED 7 ) are shown you that the card are receiving datas from and to the MIP Controller. All three LED`s will we flushing same time. The RTS -B LED ( LED 6 ) should be flushing latest every 5 sec ,when the LED is flushing the datas will be transferred from Sensor to the MIP controller The 2 pcs of terminals are for Jumpers ( Term ) . Please take care that only the last sensor in line is terminated.

Possible Measurements to check the HOBUS Sensor and HOBUS-D Card

7. 8. 9. 10. The Power Output to the Sensor should be approx 8 V / DC between the Terminals X2_4 / X2_5 ( V3 ) The current from HOBUS-D Card to the Sensor should be approx. 12 mA / DC If the +24V LED ( LED 1) is lightning and all other LED`s are off there are the Main Data bus from MIP controller is missing You also can measurement the resistance of the Sensor Please disconnected the plug X2 from HOBUS-D Card , than measuring the resistance between Plug X2 and Sensor on the plug X2:
Terminal X2_1 > Terminal X2_2 Terminal X2_1 > Terminal X2_4 Terminal X2_2 > Terminal X2_4 should be approx 130 should be approx 9,5 k should be approx 9,5 k

11.

If the RTS -S LED ( LED 3 ) , RxD-S LED ( LED 5 ) and the RxD B LED ( LED 7 ) are flushing, but the RTS -B LED ( LED 6 ) are not flushing inside 5 sec , please check if this Sensor made an Device Error on the MIP controller. Please write out the address from sensor and install these address once again in the MIP controller. See Instruction for further address setting.

Check of wiring during commisioning 12. Disconnect the Databus and the Power Feeding Cable for the line of Sensors Use a Digital Multimeter to measure the Resistance Check of Resistance for Power Feeding wires 5/6 ( + 24V/DC to 7/8 0V/DC ) Resistance should be infinite M Ohm The Resistance for each Hobus-D Card together with the Sensor is approx 140 KOhm Check of Resistance for Data bus P/N Measuring between X1.1 Pin 1 and PIN 2 should be approx 140 k if you have only 1 Sensor should be approx 70 k if you have 2 Sensor should be approx 46,66 k if you have 3 Sensor
