MU SIGMA INTERVIEW DETAILS

The interview consists of 5 rounds starting from a aptitude test of 20 questions to be done in 25 mins, apti is simple but be careful as there is negative marking. 2nd round is essay round ,just add some punch lines in the starting of the essay and den write normal essay whatever you know and conclude .Time allotted is 10 mins. After essay, next round is group discussion .Normal topics of GD are : 1. Should prostitution be legalized?. 2. Effect of reality shows on the society and the children. 3. Brain Drain (advantages and disadvantages). 4. Is GD a good way of elimination ? After GD there will be 2 rounds of interviews.

Questions asked when I faced the interview. 1. Tell me about yourself?

I said m ALok joshi s/o Sub/Maj Dinkar joshi and Mrs. Janki Joshi. I am from bhimtal ,uttarakhand. I have done my class 10th from kendriya vidyalaya istc Jabalpur and secured 88%.I got 100 marks in mathematics and got 0.1 certificate for science, then we moved to indore where I did my 12th class from kendriya vidyalaya No 1 indore and secured 86 % marks .In 12th I was among the top 1% in physics Olympiad. Then I took a drop of 1 year for IIT/AIEEE preparations which I passed in year 2007 with 20000 rank and joined AIT in IT stream.During my college days I took part in various cultural and technical festivals. I took in many paper presentations in and outside college ,the best 1 was when I presented my paper in cognizance ,the annual technical festival of iit roorkee ,I got the certificate of merit for my presentation. I also joined NCC airwing and got C certificate with gradeA. My unit was no 3 air quadran NCC pune. I also played tennis ,football etc. I also participated in folk dance in aakriti 2010 and our team got 1st position. I was the mess president of student mess committee. This year I completed my BE(IT) with 1st class with distinction.My hobbies are solving puzzles,sudoko,kakuro,all sorts of medical stuffs and watching documentaries like extreme machine,megastructures ,how do they do it etc. i also told him that in the morning when

newspaper comes first I look for the Sudoku,get it solved then see the headlines. Sir,My passion was 2 join army ,I recommended dis year but due 2 mdical reason unable 2 join that.

2.then he asked wat was the medical reason ???

I said cadiac murmur. Type of disease in which the heartbeat goes faster then the normal when I run 2 -3 kms.

3.then he said that u are good at data interpretation .so he asked a graph.the graph was

q is different quarters but instead of only 1 line there was 3 lines for 3 different companies.it was easy he will ask for peak value for which company for wich year .u will easily ask but carefully see the graph ,dont think its tough ,have confidence .

4.then he asked what u did in ur enginnering ,means u did ur eng from IT ,IT me wat u know.??

I said sir my interesting subjects were multimedia and ISS (info system security)

Ok 5.Den he asked wat u studied in multimedia ?? I said various file systems audio,video,image file systems Like jpg,mpeg,.avi etc I told him sabke fullform.

6. then he asked the difference between jpg and mpeg. I said jpg is image file ,mpeg is audio file . 7.den he asked ki how will u secure internet .

I said sir ,for internet security we use digital sign,encryption ,RSA ,and nessus .all we combine 2 get internet ssecured . Den he asked wat is rsa. I told the fullfrom and the algo and the significance of using primary keys. Then he asked digital signatures. I told him with the diagram Then I also told him about my project also. I also told him that wen we use internet banking ,its written on the address bar HTTPS means secure http .its secured by rsa or various algo.i also told him that on the banks site page we see verisign written at the right bottom.these are digital certificate provider authorities. 7. then he asked me u r good at mathematics. Draw th graph for logx,equation of line and equation of parabola. 8.then usne simple sa 1 question diya numerator me 2 terms and denominator me 2 terms.unko multiply karna tha and deno wali term se divide . So usme point ke baad badi term lilkhi hogi ,just round it of the pont ke baad wali term like if its written 23.93445533,make it 24 fir jaldi se multiply with other term and get the ans.

7.then he asked ki write an also for Fibonacci series. Wo to likh hi diiya.

8.then he said suppose there is a retail company of clothes.due to less sales he is giving 1 tshirt or jeans free with 1.now after 1 month the company comes 2 mu sigma for analysis ,whther v r on the write trak or not he wants suggestions also.how wll u procede. I said sir ,first ill tell dem that for making good profit if the cost of shirt is 400 den make it 600 and den give 1 shirt free. Use banners ,advertisements using demography means close to colleges because tshirts and jeans collge goin children jyjada like karte hai. Den sir at the end of the month ull calculate the total sales kitna hua. And compare with when v r selling without 1 ke sath 1 free. And tell him if profit is positive ,v r on the right track. Profit = total sales previous sales cost of advertisement raw material. Fande marne hai bas or kuch nahi .

9. if u want 2 launch a burger of mc donalds,how u will launch .already pizza hut has a burger in market .people like it very much.

Tell him that 1st vll look for the demography ,same that city and college goin students like junk foods bla bla. Den sir reverse enginner the pizza wala burger .chk wat people like wich flavours ,wat spices etc etc.den thoda sa advertisements thoda sa free coupon .thoda sa rate less kar do pizzzaa wala se ..bas.baki apne fande u can tell

10..why business analyst. I said sir I already told u that my hobbies are all related to mathematic stufts ,I was recommended for army ,so its proved that I hv comm. Skills ,managerial skills ,good

physcology,good team spirits etc.so I think this is the write place for me ,where I can best use my talent .

11.wat do u know about business analysis. I told him the definition already mugged up. and thode fande maar diye . I also told him how a business analyst should be. or already told him about me also .matlab I showed him that I can be a business analyst.
