WHAT IS AUTO ENABLED

The RTS signal is normally required by rs-232 to control the transmit data. Elimination of this signal would thus require no special
drivers for operation.
The converter rs-485 link is always in the receive state. Data sent from the rs-232 turns the rs-485 link into the transmit mode. This
remains in the transmit mode until data is not detected being sent, which then turns the rs-485 link back into the receive state. This
can be accomplished many ways the most common being RC time constants, and dip switches to control this value for different
baud rates. Integrity instruments chose to use a microprocessor to control this so the process is fully automatic at no matter what
baud rate the end user decided to use.
The XP485-9E is a fully automatic auto enabled externally powered converter, and requires no RTS signal on the rs-232 side for
operation. Fully automatic from 1200 to 115.2 K baud the unit can also be set for manual mode control at pre selected baud rates.
Signal and power LED indicators are standard for monitoring operation and built in jumper selectable termination is provided.

We designed the TTL-25A converter to provide error free full-duplex data communications for TTL and CMOS applications using a
3-wire RS232 interface. Connections are provided for Tx, Rx, Gnd, and +5v signals.
This converter conveniently plugs into the DB25 connector commonly found on the standard IBM-PC.
The TTL-25A can operate for both DTE and DCE configurations with the addition of a NULL modem converter for DCE applications.

The addressable RS-485 to RS-232 converter provides an easy way to build a network of devices out of existing RS-232 equipment.
These units provide both Transmit and receive buffering of RS-232 data and a full 16 bit CRC checksum for the RS-485 network
packet error detection.
The packet protocol used on the RS-485 communication side is modeled after the ModBus protocol, and can detect duplicate pack-
ets in a case where the acknowledge packet from the Send RS-232 Data becomes corrupted.
Parameters are configured through a dedicated Debug/Configuration port. All programmed parameters are stored on non-volatile
memory. The unit parameters are set using a dumb terminal program, such as EZ-Terminal. When this unit is not in configuration
mode, this dedicated port is used to dump debug information. This information includes, RS-485 Packet Received, RS-485 Packet
Sent, RS-232 data sent, parity error, etc.

The repeater rs-485 link on both sides is always in the receive state. Data received from the rs-485 on one side turns the rs-485 link
on the opposite side into the transmit mode. This remains in the transmit mode until data is not detected being received, which then

tions via an RS485 link. The RS485 drivers are auto enable controlled using an on board microprocessor, providing fast multi-drop
capability for a variety of applications using the single pair RS485 differential signals.

The Integrity Instruments RCE-1 allows the user to monitor contact status at one location, and send these signals to a remote loca-
tion. The system is bi-directional allowing contact status at the remote location to be sent back to the other end. Up to 8 inputs at
each end can be sent as outputs to the other end. The uniqueness is that this is done over a single set of twisted pair wires using rs-
485 communications.
The RCE-1 system consists of a master slave set. Power to each unit is supplied from the area it is at. When the units are powered
a communication protocol is maintained between the units. Similar to a “watch dog” operation the units send information to each
other. When an input is sensed at one end, this information is sent to the opposite end and a corresponding output is acti-
vated at the other end. If communication is lost, all outputs at both ends are de-activated.

Physical status (loading doors open, pumps running).

Manned operations acknowledgement.

REMOTE CONTACT EXTENDER
INTERFACE
WITH ENCLSOURE
The Integrity Instruments RCE-1E allows the user to monitor contact status at one location, and send these signals to a remote loca-
tion. The system is bi-directional allowing contact status at the remote location to be sent back to the other end. Up to 8 inputs at
each end can be sent as outputs to the other end. The uniqueness is that this is done over a single set of twisted pair wires using rs-
485 communications.
The RCE-1E system consists of a master slave set. Power to each unit is supplied from the area it is at. When the units are powered
a communication protocol is maintained between the units. Similar to a “watch dog” operation the units send information to each
other. When an input is sensed at one end, this information is sent to the opposite end and a corresponding output is acti-
vated at the other end. If communication is lost, all outputs at both ends are de-activated.

The PS9J is a 9VDC 400 ma, 2.5 mm O.D. center positive AC/DC transformer which provides DC power source requirements for
our data acquisition and interface converter products.
The PS9CST is a 9VDC 400 ma AC/DC transformer with cut stripped and tinned leads which provides DC power source require-
ments for our interface converter products.
485–PLG module
While the 485-PLG is not required for operation of the Integrity Instruments 485 products, this handy device make RS485 wiring a
SNAP!
Features include 4 conductor RJ-11 modular cable connections for:

Jumper selectable power connect allows the 485-PLG to use single or multiple power supplies for your RS485 network. Includes an
LED power on indicator and power jack.
Note: RJ-11 connection requires a 6-4 modular plug and 4 conductor telephone cable.

EXP-STA and EXP-TRK I/O Expander board
DATA ACQUISITION
The Integrity Instruments EXP-XXX expander board is designed to accept the industry standard footprint AC or DC I/O modules pro-
duced by companies such as WRC Akron, Gordos, Opto22, and more. The EXP-x digital I/O module mounting board is designed as
an I/O port expander board utilized in conjunction with Integrity Instruments remote serial data acquisition and digital I/O modules.
The expander board is available in two models: the EXP–STA and the EXP-TRK. The EXP-TRK model fits in a 3” SNAP TRACK™
vinyl-mounting track, while the EXP-STA model ships with 1/2" standoffs installed for direct panel mounting. Both models come with
“real” 5 mm x 20 mm fuses. The expander boards unique design allows for no hassle digital I/O module expansion. Connecting a
single EXP-x I/O module expander board and instantaneously control 4 I/O lines, plug in 3 more and control a total of 16 digital I/O
lines! Additionally, the EXP-XXX I/O module expander boards versatility used in conjunction with the Integrity Instruments DB25TSF
terminal strip board, your digital I/O lines can be adapted to operate with most I/O controllers on the market today!

These Western Reserve Controls I/O modules are compatible with the EXP-XXX Expander Digital I/O module mounting boards used
in conjunction with the Integrity Instruments remote serial data acquisition and digital I/O products. Four versions of the industry
standard footprint modules are available.

SNAPTRACK™ is rigid 3" PVC channel used for mounting printed circuit boards that permits rapid field installation and servicing.
SNAPTRACK™ can be panel mounted or DIN rail mounted by adding optional hardware. Accepts the EXP-TRK Digital I/O Module
Mounting Board.
The mounting track is available in 6 inch increments. One 6 inch sections holds one EXP-TRK board.
TKAD DIN RAIL MOUNT
DB25TSME
We have designed and manufactured the and DB25TSME to address the growing requirements for customizable DB25 connectors
and thereby saving time on field wiring maintenance and installations. The DB25TSME allows the complete pin customization of a
DB25 male connector. The DB25TSME utilizes screw clamp type terminal blocks to fasten the conductors securely without the has-
sles of other D-Subminiature connector customization kits. Your 25 pin connectors will be customized in the matter of seconds with-
out the requirement of soldering a single connection!
DB25TSM & DB25TSF & DB25TS-U

The DB25TSF allows connection to our EXP boards for access when not using with another controller. We have designed the and
DB25TSM and DB25TS-U to match our DB25 digital port on our data acquisition modules and thereby saving time on field wiring
maintenance and installations. Both use screw clamp type terminal blocks to fasten the conductors securely. The boards have no-
menclature to identify which pins the terminals are connected to. The DB25TS-U has nomenclature matching our digital I/O port on
our data acquisition modules.

DB15TSM & DB15TS-U

The DB15TSM matches our analog port on our data acquisition modules. All analog I/O and voltages are available at this port. The
boards have nomenclature to identify which pins the terminals are connected to. The DB15TS-U has nomenclature matching our
digital I/O port on our data acquisition modules.
CONVERTERS
AE-8CH
The Integrity Instruments AE-8CH 8 channel Analog Expander board is designed to operate with our line of data acquisition mod-
ules. A DB15 connector mates with the module supplying power and signal paths which are available at a convenient terminal strip.
DATA ACQUISITION
Plus and minus 5 vdc, as well as plus and minus unregulated voltages are also provided at a terminal strip for external signal condi-
tioning and use if required. MTA .100 jacks are also available for solid state temperature probes. The AE-8CH has jumpers offering
a variety of input possibilities and combinations.
The AE-8CH unit provides for:
(1) 4-20 ma inputs

(2) Plus 10 vdc inputs
(3) Solid state temperature probes
(4) No input conditioning.
When dealing with our 232M200 series modules, use AE-8CH-2m module.
ASC-2CH
The Integrity Instruments ASC-2CH Analog Signal Conditioner board is designed to operate with our line of data acquisition mod-
ules. A DB15 connector mates with the module supplying power and signal paths which are available at a convenient terminal strip.
Plus and minus 5 vdc, as well as plus and minus unregulated voltages are also provided at a terminal strip for external signal condi-

tioning and use if required. Channel 0 and 1 have gain controlled amplifiers suitable for thermocouple inputs and an onboard tem-
perature sensor on channel 7 for terminal strip temperature compensation. Channels 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are available for other inputs.
The gain of the channel 0 and channel 1 amplifiers are controlled by a resistive value from pin 1 to pin 8 of the OP amp. The gain of
each channel is separately controlled by jumpers on the board to provide gains of 1, 10, 100, and 1,000. In addition jumpers can be
installed for input signal load termination if required. The board also has open space where you can put a potentiometer, or a spe-
cific gain resistor for you custom applications.
When dealing with our 232M200 series modules, use ASC-2CH-2m module.
