A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT
Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Doing Gods will demands making personal sacrifices as Christian stewards. We hear this in each of todays readings. All of us are to be willing to undergo suffering for the sake of Gods Kingdom. In fact, each day stewards can consciously find sacrifices we make as an offering to God, showing that we are willing to give our all for him. Following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued A Pastoral Message: Living With Faith and Hope After September 11. The message remains extremely relevant as we reflect on what happened ten years ago today. Visit www.usccb.org and search on "9/11" to re-read, reflect on, and pray with the bishops' statement, for only with God's help can we have the strength to forgive and the ability to live in hope instead of fear and hatred.
Each year the Knights of Columbus hold the Tootsie Roll Drive to raise funds for the Developmentally Challenged. This year the Knights will be soliciting for donations after all masses the weekend of Sept.10th and 11th-Tootsie Rolls and Tootsie Roll banks will be available outside the church doors. The Knights will be on street corners and store fronts in our area the weekend of Sept.16th and 17th. Please help us raise funds for Registered Charitable Organizations in our area. We thank you in advance for your support. Anyone wishing to volunteer on the weekends please contact Ed Schumann at (630)627-8213. Nonknights and ladies are most welcome to help.

Changes in the Parts of the People in the Order of Mass in the Roman Missal, Third Edition (approved June 15, 2006 by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops; confirmed March 26, 2010 by the Holy See [Prot n. 1464/06/L]) www.USCCB.org/romanmissal
PART OF PRESENT TEXT FOR PEOPLE MASS Dialogue at the Deacon (or Priest): A reading from the Holy Gospel according to N. Gospel People: Glory to you, Lord. Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
