ECOLCELL R1000:

The system is composed by: Electrical panel Electrolysis group Type R1000 (No.1 electrolytic cell, filter and flowswitch) Manifold (one inlet two outlet ND40) No. 2 chlorine distribution valves ND40 No 2 injection points with boss and shipside valves ND40

The pipes before and after our system were not supply by ACG

WORKS TO DO AT DRY-DOCK:
Checks of injection points and shipside valves Checks of all piping Maintenance of the electrolysis group (anodes replacement and cleaning)

WORKS TO DO WHEN VESSEL WILL BE AFLOAT (re-start of the system):

Check of the electrical connection Check if the flowswitch is properly working Check of the cell polarity Check the working parameters (Volt and Ampere)

1) WORK TO DO AT DRY-DOCK:
Following some checks to do during dry-dock and detailed information to replace the anodes.

CHECKS 1. Check if the chlorine injection point inside sea-chests are clogged (if you can take photos) 2. Check the status of the shipside valves (take photos) 3. Check if pipes from the electrolysis group to the injection points are clogged.

ELECTROLYSIS GROUP MAINTENANCE

You have to replace the anodes inside the electrolytic cell. Following some instruction and useful photos to do this work. Disconnect the inlet part of the electrolysis group (from flange to flange) (please, see photos 1) Unscrew all fittings and disconnect the electrical connection in order to be free the whole flowswitch (photos 2-4) Remove the bottom cover (see photo 5) Disconnect positive electrical connection on the electrolytic cell (see photo 6). Remove the negative electrical connection, too. Unscrew the bolt that fix the cell to the frame (see photo 7) and remove the whole cell. Unscrew the bolt that fix the anodes holder to the cell (see photo 8) Remove the anodes (see photo 9). Check inside the cell if there is Calcium and Magnesium deposit. If yes, clean the internal part of the cell well with warm water (high pressure). Insert the new anodes consisting in No. 3 titanium plates already assembled on PVC BASE, sent from ACG to Yard . Under no circumstances scrape the titanium anode as it will become permanently damaged. During this step, pay attention also to the spacers between each titanium plate (see photo 9): they are really important, and be sure that they remain in their position when you insert the anodes. Clean the filter and the flowswitch as described on the instruction manual on Chapter V Point 1 and 2. Re-install the whole cell on the frame and reconnect all pipes as before. Reconnect the electric cables (following the drawing A-E-8238-E): Positive cable must be connected to the bottom stud of the electrolysis cell and negative cable must be connected to the upper stud on the left side of the cell. Running the system with wrong electrical connection, would cause a permanently damage of the whole electrolytic cell. Re-connect the flowswitch electric head (the N.O. contact 1-2 on the head of the flowswitch must be connected to the junction boxes of the electrolysis group to terminal 23, 24)

2) WORKS TO DO WHEN VESSEL WILL BE AFLOAT (re-start of the system):

Below some checks to do in order to understand if the system works properly. Please note that the electric panel is already installed and it was properly working before Dry-Dock, so these checks are just to be sure that no damages were done during dry-dock works.

ELECTRICAL PANEL (EXTERNAL VIEW)

ELECTRICAL PANEL (INTERNAL VIEW)

1. Check if the cabinet is properly earthed. 2. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION BEFORE SWITCH ON THE SYSTEM:
The positive cable coming from the electrical panel must be connected to the positive stud of the electrolysis cell (on the bottom of the cell) The negative cable must be connected to the negative stud (on the left side of the cell)

ELECTROLYSIS GROUP

Wrong connection cause a permanently damage of the cell.

3. Close the sea water feed valve of the electrolysis group. 4. Switch ON the system: the NO SEA WATER lamp should light.
If not (so the WORKING lamp remains ON) It means that the flowswitch is stuck and need to be cleaned (following the instruction in the manual CHAPTER V Part. 2).

5. With the system ON, Reopen the sea water feed valve: the NO SEA WATER lamp should go out. If not consult
the instruction manual CHAPTER VI Part. 1)

If the checks above are positive do the following checks: 6. Check the voltage (Vdc) directly on the cell (pay attention to the polarity: Positive multimeter red pin on the
positive stud and negative multimeter black pin on the negative stud of the cell): Chlorine switch on POS. I : Vdc Chlorine switch on POS. II : Vdc

7. With the system ON, inform us about which values do you read on the electric panel in the following situations:
Chlorine switch (on the electric panel) on POS. I : V A Chlorine switch (on the electric panel) on POS. II : V A You should read about 4V / 250A on POS. I and 4.5V / 300A on Pos. II.

8. Following the instruction reported on the MANUAL at CHAPTER IV Point 5, take a sea water sample on a
chlorinated circuit at delivery of one of the sea water pumps and make the free residual chlorine test, in order to verify the chlorine production. You should find a value between 0.1 0.5 ppm.

9. SEND TO ACG: PHOTOS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, THE OFFICIAL TECHNICAL REPORT WEVE SENT AND THIS FILE FILLED WITH VALUES FOUND AND ALL YOUR COMMENTS. 10. GIVE A COPY OF THE OFFICIAL TECHNICAL REPORT TO THE CLIENT.
