MATERIALS
• 790-381 Lion Brand Homespun® Yarn: Barley
4 4, 5, 5, 6 Balls
• Lion Brand Crochet Hook - Size K-10.5
• Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)

GAUGE:

9 sts + 7 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in hdc. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the
gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials
specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in.
[10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger
size hook or needles.

BODY
Back
Ch 44 (48, 52, 56, 60).
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each remaining ch across - 42 (46, 50, 54, 58) hdc.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across. Rep Row 2 until piece measures 12 in. (30.5 cm) from beg. Do not
fasten off.
Shape Sleeves
Row 1: Ch 22, turn, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 19 ch, hdc in each st across - 62 (66, 70, 74, 78)
hdc.
Row 2: Ch 22, turn, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 19 ch, hdc in each st across - 82 (86, 90, 94, 98)

Row 3: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Rep Row 3 until 6 (7, 7, 7, 8) in. (15 (18, 18, 18, 20.5) cm) from beg of sleeve shaping. Do not fasten off.
Shape Right Neck
Row 1 (RS): Ch 2, turn, hdc in first 32 (34, 36, 38, 40) sts; leave remaining sts unworked (for neck and left
front) - 32 (34, 36, 38, 40) hdc.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Rep Row 2 until neck opening measures 4 in. (10 cm) from beg of neck shaping. End with a WS row. Drop
yarn, but do not fasten off.
Shape Left Neck
Row 1 (RS): Skip 18 unworked sts at neck and join 2nd ball of yarn in next st, ch 2, hdc in each st across -
32 (34, 36, 38, 40) sts.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Rep Row 2 until neck opening measures 4 in. (10 cm) from beg of neck shaping. End with a WS row. Fasten
off.

Join for Front


Pick up yarn at right neck.
Row 1 (RS): Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across right front, ch 18, hdc in each st across left front.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across left front, hdc in next 18 ch, hdc in each st across right front - 82
(86, 90, 94, 98) hdc.
Row 3: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Rep Row 3 until sleeve measures 16 (18, 18, 18, 20) in. (40.5 (45.5, 45.5, 45.5, 51) cm). End with a WS
row.
Fasten off.

Front
Row 1: With RS facing, skip 20 sts and join yarn in next st; ch 2, hdc in 42 (46, 50, 54, 58) sts; leave
remaining 20 sts unworked.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across - 42 (46, 50, 54, 58) sts.
Row 3: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Rep Row 3 until front measures 12 in. (30.5 cm). Fasten off.

FINISHING
Fold piece in half along shoulder. Sew side and sleeve seams.
Neck Edging
From RS, join yarn at center of back neck.
Rnd 1: Working around neck edge; ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), work (dc, ch 1) evenly spaced around edge;
join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch.
Rnd 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), skip next ch-1 sp, *dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next ch -1 sp; rep from *
around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch. Fasten off.
Rep edging Rnds 1 and 2 around sleeves.
Around lower edge of Pullover, work edging Rnds 1 and 2, then work Rnd 2 once more. Fasten off. Weave in
ends.
