Issue FIVE

This is Your Time!!! You can live ALIVE ON PURPOSE October 1, 2011
Dear Reader, Have you ever wondered was there more to life then what you were currently experiencing? Have you ever wondered did anyone in the world feel the same way that you did about your dreams, passions, and goals? I have been receiving calls and emails that Im not the only one who has ever felt this way. Many of you have expressed the loneliness that this walk of purpose has produced and the many decisions that you have been required to make in effort to continue to move forward on your individual journey. Many of you have expressed the loss of friends, relationships, jobs and even bad or comfortable habits. Once again I hear you saying that you werent warned about that part of the process. Honestly, in certain situations neither was I? I didnt know if my relationships with people would end on a Monday, Tuesday, or Sunday, but a part of me knew that it was coming and a decision needed to be made of faith. It is the decision to believe in what you and I wrote on that vision board a couple of months ago. It is the decision to follow the passion that you have in the forefront of your mind as youre reading the title of this newsletter. It is the decision to pursue your goals no matter who leaves, what fails, or what is presented. I am writing this newsletter not from a place of arrival, but rather from a place of identification. As we continue on our journey it doesnt matter if this is step one or five! Make the decision and remove what is unnecessary and run, chase, and leap even harder into your PURPOSE! Stepping Out On Faith,

LaToyia D. Jones

God has blessed me (Nakia Jones) with a gift to be the hope for the hopeless and the voice for those who can't speak. With unforeseen obstacles in my educational career I continued to live Alive on Purpose. I paid my way through the Police Academy and was hired as a police officer in 1996 in the city that I had lived in for part of my life, East Cleveland. In 1999 I left East Cleveland and went to Highland Hills Police Department.
I did not feel like I was able to be a positive example in Highland Hills because it was such a small city and I missed the interaction with people who really needed help like in East Cleveland so I left Highland Hills in 2002 and was hired on Warrensville Heights Police Department where I am currently the first and only African American Female Officer. I was hired in by the honorable Marcia Fudge. I have watched God use me to be a voice for females as well as males in our city and I have watched God use me to help bring hope to people who were at the end of their ropes. The bible says there is no greater love than this that a man would lay down his life for a friend (John 15:13) and that's what I do everyday when I put on that uniform I lay down my life.

Freedom is life! Most people who spend their days and nights at work, with the kids, or involved in some consuming task always say "I have no life". Because being free, means to them they have a choice. In our spiritual life it's the same thing. Sin is referred to many times as bondage, because sometimes we can't stop ourselves, even when we try. So then, God's solution to sin and the bondage it brings, is Jesus. Jesus is the one who came that we might have life and life more abundantly, in Freedom.
Here comes the best part. Freedom didn't come, only by knowing the truth. "you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." Some of us are in a place where we can't hear, learn, or understand. Our hearts are hard toward others because of situations. But, God is so good that he created another way to be set free, that bypasses the mind and will of man. And that's through worship. "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom". The presence of God is the place where shackles fall first and are noticed later. "I can't remember the definite day when I stopped cursing, fighting, stealing, and being so easily offended." However, I can remember when I became free. The more time we spend with Him, the more we become like Him, FREE. Check out Pastor Israels Upcoming Event!

God came to me in 2005 and told me he had a greater work for me and that this work was going to touch the lives of millions. I did not understand it then but in 2006 I wrote and directed my first gospel play with the direction of the holy spirit and when this play premiered I saw God change lives. I saw people cry, laugh, and shout and I even saw the presence of hope and faith being restored. I saw families who had been torn apart begin to mend, again it was truly amazing but most of all it changed something in me.
I knew then that I had finally found that greater work that God has called me to do. Please join me on my journey on October 14th & 15th!

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do!

When God has made us a promise we have to be willing to cut ties with everything and anyone who God is separating us from to receive it. Take Abraham for example: He was instructed by God to cut ties with his family in order to walk into the Land of Milk and Honey. No one was suppose to go with him but somehow Lot became apart of Abraham's journey. It didn't take long for Abraham's disobedience to reek havoc, as it became a nuisance for them to continue together. Now, I doubt that Abraham was intentional in his disobedience but was rather being "nice" in letting Lot tag along. We are all guilty of the same thing from time to time. We let people and spirits tag along because we are related to them or we don't want to seem mean by declining their presence. There are some people and spirits that we are attached to because of the fellowship we ourselves have had or the fellowship of our predecessors with those spirits. This means we have a relationship, a tie, a bond to things and people that are not God's intention for us in certain seasons. These familiar spirits lend a level of comfort and security especially in a situation such as Abraham's where he was stepping out on God's word into new uncharted territory. Separating from people we have always hung out with or always had communication with can be hard and seemingly confusing to that person as to what happened to the relationship, but we have to be willing to do it in order to get what God has for us. It maybe a friend, cousin, or even a church but know for sure that you have heard the voice of God and keep it moving. Abraham wasn't mean or rude when him and Lot separated in fact, he pleaded in Genesis 13:8 for there to be no strife between him and Lot or his people and Lots people but to basically understand that the space wasn't big enough for the both of them. As we continue to pursue purpose we have to become more familiar with the spirit of God as we are with kindred spirits of our past. Where you are going is not for everyone and God is not stingy, He's resourceful and mindful not to misplace His blessings for you to others that haven't rightfully earned them. Today, identify and evaluate the familiar spirits that may not be bad, but bring about a sense of stagnation or comfort and remove yourself from amongst them. If you don't you'll be stuck trying to take back what always belonged to you.
