miling Faces…Going Places pretty much sums it up
for the Hackettstown Community Band this year.
The band performed all over northwestern New
Jersey, from holiday and fire department parades, to con-
certs in the park, Special Olympics and various senior cit-
izen residences. The band always leads the Hackettstown
Memorial Day parade, and participates in various fire
department parades including the Boonton parade during
the Labor Day holiday weekend. Concerts in the park, this
year, included Belvidere, Stewartsville and
Meadowbreeze (Washington Boro, Warren County ).
Every year the band has participated in the Special
Olympic events in Hackettstown and enjoyed bringing
music to senior citizens at Mt Olive Manor and the House
of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown. The band is fund-
ed, in part, by the Warren County Cultural and Heritage
Commission and is open to volunteer membership from
