Methods of reducing carbon emission 1.

Fuel Switching Fuel switching replaces inefficient fuels with cleaner and economical alternatives, such as substituting coal or kerosene for natural gas. 2. Appliance efficiency improvements sometimes simply called energy efficiency, is the goal of efforts to reduce the amount of energy required to provide products and services. E.g. florescent bulbs, insulating home, skylights etc. Cooking efficiency improvements Service sector space heating- is a system for distributing heat generated in a centralized location for residential and commercial heating requirements such as space heating and water heating. Domestic space heating

3. Industrial CHP Combined heat and power, CHP is the use of a heat engine or a power station to simultaneously generate both electricity and useful heat. Resulting in 80% efficiency than an average power station hence less fuel is used and less carbon is emitted. Country-wide CHP/Small-scale CHP- is an extension of the now well established idea of CHP the single/multi family home or small office building. Process Heat- is the capture of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and other sources. Its unique process cogenerates carbon capture and power.

4. Advance Gas Turbines because they utilise natural gas emission of carbon is significantly reduced. 5. Water heating- since solar energy a renewable energy is used carbon emission is reduced significantly. 6. Industrial motive power- do not use fossil fuel carbon emission is greatly decreased.

7. Renewables uses energy which comes from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, and geothermal heat, which are renewable (naturally replenished) hence carbon emission is decreased. 8. Nuclear Power utilises a mixture of energy efficiency and renewable energy offers a quicker, more realistic and sustainable approach to reducing CO2 emissions. However;

It is one of the most expensive ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The nuclear industry does contribute to carbon dioxide emissions. No proven strategies exist for the permanent safe storage of nuclear waste.

Nuclear power poses a very real health risk. Nuclear power is uneconomic, unsustainable and unsafe.

9. Advanced Coal Technology- is used primarily to describe technologies that may reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas that arise from the burning of coal for electrical power. Typically, clean coal is used by coal companies in reference to carbon capture and storage, which pumps and stores CO2 emissions underground, and to plants using an integrated gasification combined cycle which gasifies coal to reduce CO2 emissions.
