Week of Oct.

3-7 3rd Grade9:15-9:45; 12:40-1:10 Objective: students will be able to identify story structure elements --Begin each day with Vocabulary development of word wizard Students will practice their fluency poetry. Monday-Read aloud: Students will read their story to me that they wrote with the substitute. TUESDAY Read- Water Hole Waiting by Jane Kurtz and Christopher Kurt Write-students will identify 3 parts of a setting Listening-Students will brainstorm together. SpeakingWednesday WednesdayThursday2nd Grade FridayObjective: Students will be able to finish Context Clues, Students will practice word wizards using sentence frames. Mon.- Students will be read the book Donald Crews' Bigmama's, using the connection bridge from Into the book students will make connections to what they have read. Tues. Students will practice their fluency poetry. Working on the first 2 poems. Students will finish Context Clue Practice. Wed.- Students will choose one of the making connections books to read to a partner, using our graphic organizer students will write their thinking. Thursday- NO GROUP AUTHOR IS IN THE GYM FridayObjective: Students will be able to define the season of autumn, and through writing be able to practice in journal new vocabulary. Throughout the week we will be reading all sorts of books about Fall students will be recording their learnings and learning new voc. Poems and spelling words. Objective: Students will be able to zoom-in as a nonfiction reading strategy. Mon-Creating nonfiction feature DICTIONARY Tues.- Seymour Simon needs our help!

Week of Oct.3-7 4th Grade Vocabulary week #3 define and picture match, crossword, Create a study guide for quiz on Friday. Students will practice reading their new vocabulary words. While working on a review sheet , STUDENTS will come up with their own pictures to match. Students will follow the 1st grade learning of zooming in ReadingWritingListeningSpeakingTues.

5th Grade

12:20 12:40 Map testing (Tues morning , Friday afternoon) Demonstrate nonfiction reading powers brain. Discuss it as a class. -Ask students to write about what we learned as we discussed the chart. Ask students to begin reading the Shark book, noticing what they have learned.

One-on-Ones

Malik- Follow up on picture retelling with the Spongebob book, Malik will also read short passage Linda Son and AyannaMonday-Finish reading the 2nd Alexander and the no good very bad day read the third and practice making text to text connections Tues-no group all of 5th grade meets Wed-practice making text to world connections with a 5th grade leveled book. Thursday all of 5th grade meets Frid-Read a new book on inventors, students will be able to identify authors purpose and make connections.
