Using this system

Please reply to the questions in English. This also applies to any files that you upload in support of your application. If you have already used this system in the past to submit an application for another activity, the previous application will be copied and used as the basis for this new one, in order to save you time. Any fields labeled in this way are required fields and must be filled-in. All dates are to be filled in european style, i.e. as day/month/year, and years must be indicated with four digits. General Information for participants

Scientists and students from all member states of the United Nations, UNESCO or IAEA may attend the activity. As the activity will be conducted in English, participants must have an adequate working knowledge of that language. While the principal purpose of the Centre is to help research workers from developing countries, students and post-doctoral scientists from developed countries are also welcome to attend. There is no registration fee to be paid. You may need a visa to enter Italy. You can visit the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs for information.

Financial support

May be requested only by nationals of a developing country who are working in one. You must be no older than 45 years of age. The available funding will be used by the organisers in the best interests of the activity.

Preparatory School
An ICTP PREPARATORY SCHOOL will be organized the week before the College from 30 January to 3 February 2012 for a limited number of selected participants. The Preparatory School will provide background tutorials and exercises in areas of electromagnetism, general optics and Fourier transforms.
