CHAPTER 5 CONTROL ORIENTATION

5.1

Introducing Control Orientation Control orientation is very importance in a company. It is importance to help company to running smooth all the way to be success in the market. It helps company to achieve objectives and goals of company and it helps company to win competitors and to gain exclusive profit. We separate our control operation in two ways which are : i. ii. Control Orientation in Marketing. Control Orientation Operation in Factory and Office.

5.2

Control Orientation in Marketing We will control in 4Ps which is product, price, promotion and place. 1. Control in Product

The product is anything that can be offered by the marketers to market to the attention of the ownership and use can satisfy the needs and requirements. We will control the quality of product to make sure that all the customer are satisfied to our product. Products can be held in two forms either in the form of products or services.

Thus, the actual products produced when the marketer has set the level of product quality, packaging, branding, style, and others that related to the product and is equipped with aspects of fringe benefits such as after-sales service, warranties, and delivery of the elements that differentiate between products firms with products on the market.

In product management, branding, packaging and labeling is important to focus. Here, branding is a term name, symbol, design, signs, or combination. It aims to identify the goods and services a company with a competitor. Packaging is also an activity of designing and producing the container or wrapper for a product. Its main function is to protect the product, strengthen the the product in the market and have certain elements to support the position of the production.

Meanwhile, the labeling was part of the packaging containing the printed information that describes the various matters such as who, where, content, method of use and so on. So, if the combination of the three elements can be combined with good, it will creation image of high product and make customers more aware of products and companies.

We will control the quality of product to customers to make sure that all customers are satisfied to our product. In controlling the quality of product, we also make

sure that our machine is always good function and we also do maintenances in every six months.

2. Control in Price

The price is the amount of money could be paid by the buyer as the exchange for goods and services from vendors. In general, prices can be interpreted as the total value of money charged for a product or service.

Each of the products sold must have an appropriate price to the target users. Prices cant be too high or low. It should seem as if there is mutual agreement between both the consumer and the distributors.

Thus, in determining pricing, companies will be wise to charge prices that can a cover the total cost of production for each stage of production consists of three types of costs that is fixed cost, variable cost and total cost.

We also make sure the price that set in product is always reasonable and affordable to everyone.

3. Control in Promotion

The sales promotion means the direct stimulation of offering incentives or even greater value to the product through the insistence of the sale and distribution of products to end users with the objective to create instant sales. It is a marketing function that involves the communication to persuade the target consumer in order to facilitate exchanges between consumers and marketers to help meet the objectives both parties.

The promotion is contains the advertising, publicity, personal selling and sales promotion. Each device has the capability of its own campaign in attracting the attention of such users to draw new tempter, especially among buyers who called those who like to change the brand of choice as a reward to loyal customers and to

increase the repurchase rate among buyers who do not frequent, attract more customers and speed up sales of product offerings within a short time

Thus, the promotion will be more effective if it can attract people attention, create interest in customers, creating a desire to purchase and finally use to buy goods or services offered.

We are using printing media such as Metro newspapers, bunting, brochures, flyers, and business cards to promote our Menate Patties to our customers. We also using electronic media like website where is we have do our Menate websites as one of the promotional alternative that we have done. Bunting used to be located in places like in front of the shop, in the shop and in every place where the demonstrations runs. For brochures, we will place at the demonstration running place and around the supermarket and hypermarket to give to the customers. We also planning to place our brochure in the Keluarga Magazine. For flyers, we will distribute to customers in places where the campaign was held such as canival, expo, shopping complexe and around the shop. For business cards, we give to the retailers and customers.

4. Control in Place

Marketing channel (distribution channel) is a set of interdependent organization that help make a product or service available for use or consumption by the consumer or business user.

The distribution channel is a system of interdependence and cooperation between institutions in the marketing to implement the marketing function. In a net shell, this distribution channel will ensure that the products needed by the user will reach the hands of consumers at the right time, place as promised and in expected quantities. The distribution channel that we use is One Level Channel.

One Level Channel

The distribution channel on one level channel is the level of indirect marketing channels. Contains one intermediary level in the middle of this channel is known as a retailer. This level has only one middleman. These channels are usually used by small retailers in residential areas and around the company. In consumer markets, this level is typically a retailer. The makers sell their products directly to large retailers, which then sell the products to final consumers.

5.3

a vacuum pack machine to avoid the entry of bacteria through the air. 6. The Patties that have been vacuum will be entered into the box machine for

the packaging process. 7. After all the process is done, the Patties will stored into the cold room where the cold room function is to frozen the product and it

also protect the product from breeding bacteria and product damage. Our office and factory is located at Unit C, Lot 1828, Jalan KPB 3, Off Jalan Balakong, Bukit Belimbing, Seri Kembangan, 43300 Selangor. Our time operation for factory is on Monday to Friday from 9 a.m to 5 p.m and for office is on Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m. In office we have five director which are Director Company, Account Manager, Operation Manager, Human Resources Manager and Executive Marketing.

5.6.2 Ways To Increase Staff Productivity Make a staff training for all staff every year to increase the productivity. Make a staff achievement evaluation every month. It is for measure and evaluate the achievement for every staff. The staff who show the good achievement will receive an award or reward. The staff who show the bad achievement will give the training to motivation and counseling. 5.6.3 SOCSO Protection Schemes Social Security Organisation is about the principal employer must make a monthly contribution for each eligible employee according to the rates specified under the Act. Types and categories of contribution is The first category (Employment Injury Insurance Scheme and Invalidity Pension Scheme). The payment of the contribution is by both the employer and employee. The second category (Employment Injury Insurance Scheme Only). The payment of contributions is made only by the employer. 5.6.4 EPF Rate Paid Employees Provident Fund is a retirement plan for the private and public sectors in Malaysia. It is intended to help employees save a portion of their salary in the event of retirement, disability, sickness or unemployment.

5.7 Fraud While Working Hours

Every staff is responsible in doing their duty and job. The employee must energetic, active, high effort, efficient, hard working, and honest in doing all the tasks. Any staff who makes mistakes will be take a serious action. One fraud control system will be carried out to make sure all staff will be more careful and honest while doing their works. Fraud control system will be supervised by the Operation Manager. If any fraud happens, staff who are responsible in doing the fraud will be take an action.

5.8

Staff Discipline Problem

Every workers need to follow the regulations set by the company. The appropriate action will be imposed if there found workers who breaks the rules. This is important to ensure the same mistakes are not repeated. Among the common fault committed by the workers is late come to work in accordance with fixed intervals. The action to be imposed for the first mistakes is will be given the advice and warnings. If the same fault are repeated a 24 hour notice warning will be given.

5.9

Control towards Marketing Scope

The control of marketing aspects that has been suggested is need because of the existence of controls Menate Enterprise can arrange a specific strategy in the future. Among of the marketing aspects that need to be control is the aspect of Consumer Behavior, Strategic Marketing and distribution channel management.

5.9.1 Consumer Behaviour

The control of consumer behavior aspect is by organizing a questionnaire every three months on products is making by the Menate is to find out whether customers are satisfied or not, whether their products fulfill their needs and requirements and the design and product features that they want added to the Menate product lines. With this, Menate can ensure their products are always able to fulfill the customer needs.

5.9.2 Strategic Marketing

The all of information obtained will be analyzed by the Menate to monitor the before, during and after the collection of information to ensure that the Strategic Business Unit does not diverted from the original goal.

The companies can use the information gathered to plan the future in order up to date. Through the Menate positioning and new products development, MDK must take action to planning can be implemented more effectively in line with the objectives is set by the company. Menate need to control the strategic marketing to maintain the competitive advantage by doing the SWOT analysis. So that, Menate can identifies the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that will affect towards of MDK sales.

Through on the SWOT analysis, if the Menate has strength to defend the existing strengths and highlight the Menate advantages. If the Menate have a weakness, Menate should improve the weakness with seeking more opportunities to improve the Menate weaknesses. With have the greater opportunities; Menate can use the opportunity to become more competitive with the competitor. For example, the Menate takes the opportunity to use the high technology is more advanced than competitor. If the Menate is face in threats, so Menate is needed to identify the cause and find the step to overcome. Menate should find the initiatives are become more effective.

5.9.3 Distribution Channel Management

The control of the distribution channel management aspect is Menate must more focus to supply chain management. So, Menate needs to

manage and motivate the distributors that they have a strong partner relationship management to forge long-term partnership with distributors. In managing its channel Menate must convince distributors that they can succeed better by working together as a part of a cohesive value delivery system. If distributor does not give a good cooperation, Menate should motivate the distributors for network communication can be maintained.

5.10

Summary

The existence of a proper control for Menate, enable them to grow and becoming more competitive in the marketplace. Control should be carried out properly and scheduled to ensure that what has been planned is able to be implemented accurately and properly. As overall summary, Menate can avoid any kinds of problems in the future by carefully analyze its strategies carefully.
