EXPERIENCE

NDS (Nasdaq: NNDS) March 2005 – present

Designation: Group Team Leader STB QC
Key responsibilities:
• Handling team (of 18+ people).
• Ensuring the timely delivery and process adherence and testing activities,
additionally help the Technical Architect/Project manager to come up
with Business Requirement and Client Handling (Technical/Business
Aspects.

Project Details:
Following are the partial list of projects that I am handling currently.

• EPG Delivery Verification:

Requires to check all the functionality, GUI and features of Electronic Program Guide (EPG),
which is the user Interface. Including the features like HDTV and IPTV functionalities.
• Middleware/CA Verification:
To ensure that the security core (a.k.a CA) is functioning as per spec and to verify the correct
generation of ECM/EMM and CW.
• PVR/DVR/Recordable Feature Testing:
Enhanced user Experience for better TV Viewing, where user can order the event ahead of
time (IPPV/OPPV) and can store and playback in real or time-shifted mode the recorded
content and many more such features.

For all the above projects Test Director is used for Test Case management, ClearQuest for
Bug tracking and Clear Case for configuration management, apart from that project have
been automated completely with very sophisticated in-house automated tool.
SCM Microsystems/ DAZZLE* 2003 – March 2005
Designation: Team Leader Technical Support
 Primary responsibilities include Managing the team, Rightnow (CRM solution)
Administration. Report Collection and Matrix Analysis.
 Handle the FAE (Field Application Engineering) Calls from OEMs (related to Set Top
Boxes and CAMs predominantly). Which involves adhoc testing and independently
following up the issue when required with quick results also a feedback cycle to
engineering/management for the improvement of the product.
 As a Level 3 Product Specialist, Responsible for effective closure or setting up final policy
for the issues escalated.
 Skills on Handling and trouble shooting Digital Media and Photographic products like
DAZZLE software video products (MovieStar, ON DVD, DVD Complete) and supported
hardware (embedded systems).

SCM Microsystems 2000-2003

Designation: Test Engineer

 Developing test plans and Implement them effectively.

 Applying the industry and Company standard for the effective testing.
 Introduced Perceptive testing for the Digital Video Products.
 Test the variety of Peripheral and Storage devices across the Microsoft. Macintosh and
Linux Platforms.
 Good knowledge of Windows XP Logo Certification and WHQL tests.

Projects Details

(Note: This is a small list of projects undertaken as Team Leader)

• MovieStar/DVD Complete/On DVD :

These are Digital video capturing and editing Software, which can capture the video in
MPEG1/2 and AVI formats from various hardware.
Personal envolvement was, as a Team Leader testing handling the team of 6 engineers. In
this project we have made a good use of AUTOMATED Testing tool.
(All three are different products and being tested in a different rounds of testing).

• Digital TV Solutions:
This range of products evolves the various types of photographic and scanning software and
hardware. Tested Set Top box and Conditional Access Module (CAM) for Specification
such as DVB-C,DVB-T. Additionally one can connect various analogue (VHS, Analog
Camcorder) and Digital (VCD,DVD, Terrestrial Signal) sources together and can convert the
video from Mpeg1,Mpeg2 ,Avi or other formats.
Again I worked as a Team Leader for the testing round.

• Storage Solutions:
These are the products which helps an end user to store his/ her personal data on the flash
media (NAND ROM) for later retrieval.
Personal involvement was as a test engineer for many modules and Team Leader for the final
version.
For all the above-mentioned projects, Test Track Pro a bug tracking software and iPLAN were
used as a project scheduling and monitoring tool. Apart from that gained good knowledge of
automated testing tool, Project scheduling and Quality Assurance concepts.
