Glossary Tourist Terminology


1. Acommodation: alojamiento. Place where a person temporarily staying / Place to stay in / Action of host. Ex. We are looking for holiday accommodation. 2. Agency: agencia. Place where give you all the information about organized travels. 3. Apartment: (n) apartamento. A suite of rooms usually on one floor of an apartment house. 4. Arrival: llegada. The act of arriving at a certain place. Ex. They awaited her arrival. 5. Bed and Breakfast: cama y desayuno. In the price of the bedroom is incluyed too the brekfast 6. Brochure: propaganda. 24. Flight: vuelo. Movement of an airplane in the air. Ex. The flight will depart in a few moments. 25. Fly- drive holiday: viaje aire tierra. Means that you contract a service of fly and car for your travel in the agency. 26. Guest: hesped. Person who stays in a hotel / a visitor received in a house, in a hotel, etc. 27. Guesthouse: casa de huspedes, pensin. A house where people from other city or country can stay / It is a house which rent some rooms. 28. Guide: (n) gua. Of tourists. Person who make a tour to explain a people from different places the culture, history or something interesting about the place where he lives or works. Ex. The student of sustainable tourism can be a guide. 29. Guide book: (n) guia turstica. A book in which appears something about tourism. 30. High season: temporada alta. Time of the year when tourism has a great movement / Season with high influx of tourists. / The part of the year with most guests. Ex. In San Juan del Sur the high season is in summer. 31. Hiking trail: Lane. sendero de caminata. Sidewalk / Narrow path formed by the passage of people and animals / Small track where people can go to walk.

32. Holidays (GB): vacations. vacaciones. A period of time devoted to pleasure, rest or relaxation. Ex.
