D/96. I filed C.M. for early hearing which was sent by your office. The same
was fixed for hearing for 2.5.2002. The respondent’s counsel sough
adjournment on the plea that the respondent Mr. Zafar Iqbal will give the
statement himself and got it adjourned for 6.5.2002. On this date, the
respondent did not turn up, so statement could not be recorded and the case
was left over.

It is submitted that the aforesaid civil revisions were fixed for

hearing on 2.10.2002. The same could not be heard and were left over
inspite of request.

It is pertinent to mention here that the court worked only upto

11:30 a.m. and other cases were left over due to the reason that the Senior
Judge in Chamber Her Lordship Fakharun Nisa Khokhar had to address the
District Bar Association, Multan; and the other judges had to accompany her
in the ceremony.

Subject: - Civil Revision Petition No. 257-D, 258-D

Titled (i) “PTV Vs. Zafar Iqbal”
(ii) “PTV Vs. Mst. Naziran Bibi”

Respected Sir,

It is submitted that the aforesaid civil revisions were fixed for

hearing on 30.10.2002. The counsel for the respondents informed the court
that he has received instructions from his client to withdraw C.M. No. 515 of
2002. I informed the court that the compromise is on the basis of judgment
of Supreme Court of Pakistan, wherein it has been held that possession of
T.V. is liable to be taxed. I also gave the copy of the same judgment to the
Hon’ble Judge.

The Hon’ble judge took notice and asked the counsel for the
respondents to ask his client once again, as the compromise is supported by
affidavit; and the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court is very much
clear on this particular issue. The counsel sought time for consulting his
client. Now, matter is adjourned to 7.11.2002 for further hearing.
